Formed in the summer of 2004, they found their current line-up early in 2005. Within recent months they have been writing and performing increasingly better and more forward thinking music, and the band has been going from strength to strength.
Throughout 2006 the band spent time gigging relentlessly at venues all over the Midlands area, and during that time provided the band with the chance to support Howling Bells twice, the 1990s and the Tiny Dancers and play at ‘Oxjam Festival’ in London.
The band have also been featured three times on BBC Hereford and Worcester’s ‘The Friday Session’, several times on online radio stations in the ‘Monochrome Museum Global Network’, and on MTV ‘Ones to Watch’ (which was shown repeatedly throughout April and May on MTV2).
In recent months the band have been recording their debut album ‘Complications’) with their humble and very portable home studio equipment; the band finally released the album on Friday 13th April.
Dead Letter Office are currently working on writing and recording their second album. This is due to be finished Autumn 2009.

You can't find the words they don't exist.
Try to force the feelings light the spark, the bile.
My soul is willing but my bones give in.
The seed that peaks in the summer.
With the moon and the stars unfurled.
Words vibrating in the air, Scratch the skin for a shot at the bone.
I just wanna move the world.
So be my muse or be my god and tell me something that I need to know!
Kill me in my sleep so I don't have to feel it.
Dressed in black beneath fluorescent lights.
Kiss me on the mouth to stop the words from coming out and ruining this perfect night.
The seed that peaks in the summer.
With the moon and the stars unfurled.
Words vibrating in the air, Scratch the skin for a shot at the bone.
Lying back in the shadows.
I just wanna move the world.
So be my muse or be my god and tell me something that I need to know...
The lyrics to Dead Letter Office's song "Pulling Teeth" evoke the struggle of trying to make someone love you through songwriting. The songwriter acknowledges that no matter how hard they try, they cannot find the words to force someone to love them back. They describe the feeling of being willing to put in the effort, but feeling as though their own emotional well-being and strength is failing them.
Despite this struggle, the lyrics also touch on the idea that creating music can be a powerful, transformative force. The imagery of a "seed that peaks in the summer" suggests the possibility for growth and new beginnings. The songwriter wants to move the world through their music and is searching for inspiration from a muse or even a god, asking them to share something they need to know.
The desperation in the second half of the song is palpable, as the lyrics describe the desire for escape and the fear of ruining a perfect moment. The songwriter wishes to be killed in their sleep to avoid feeling the emotional pain, and seeks a physical distraction through a kiss on the mouth.
Overall, "Pulling Teeth" explores the struggle of trying to create art that reflects our deepest desires, while navigating the uncertainty and vulnerability that comes with putting ourselves out there.
