Deadline Lyrics

At first I thought it was a game
and then I saw the look in your eyes,
I tried to turn around as I tried to run away,
I felt you coming near me
I hoped that you wouldn't see me
I can't breathe for fear of moving
I can't breathe for fear of...
I feel it moving
I feel it breathing,
I feel it, ooh
I feel you staring from the darkness
and burning holes in my skin
is creeping, crawling, feeding off my fear from
within me,
stealing through the shadows
not piercing through the silence
I can't move for fear of hearing something more
and I feel it feeding,
I feel it stealing,
I feel it creeping,
I feel it... ooh
yeaah yeaah, this is getting serious yeaah yeaah, save me from this ugly mess!
yeaah yeaah, this is getting serious
serious yeaah yeaah, this is getting serious yeaah yeaah, save me from this ugly mess!
yeaah yeaah, this is getting serious, serious, serious
The lyrics of Deadline's song Serious reveal a tale of fear and the feeling of being trapped or hunted. The singer at first thinks it's a game, but soon realizes the severity of the situation upon seeing the look in the eyes of their pursuer. They try to turn around and run away, hoping not to be caught, but the fear of moving and being heard paralyzes them. They feel the presence of their pursuer, staring at them from the darkness, burning holes in their skin, and feeding off their fear. The singer feels trapped and helpless, pleading for someone to save them from this "ugly mess."
The song's lyrics are open to interpretation but could represent various fears or anxieties that people may face in their lives. The imagery of being pursued and trapped by something or someone can evoke a feeling of emotional or mental entrapment. The fear of the unknown or the fear of being discovered can also cause a sense of panic and paralysis.
