There is no shade of grey
Always right I can't be wrong
It's what you used to say
It took me months it took me years
To read between the lines
I cracked the code I saw your fears
You're full of it you're full of lies
[Ref:]
And I listened to everything you had to say
It's clear you wanted everything to go your own way
But you were wrong now I have thought it through on my own
The things you said, the things you did, the bad seeds you've sown
I'm not a liar
Spread your rumours with a cold straight face cos you need attention
And stab your old mates in the back for no fuckin' reason
You're not my mate now that's for sure but I feel no hate
I'm indifferent to all your shit, I leave you to your fate
[Ref:]
And I listened to everything you had to say
It's clear you wanted everything to go your own way
But you were wrong now I have thought it through on my own
The things you said, the things you did, the bad seeds you've sown
I'm not a liar
The song "Liar" by Deadline is a powerful message to someone who has betrayed the singer’s trust. The song describes the black and white world the liar creates, a world where they are always right and the singer is always wrong. The singer took months and years to read between the lines and finally cracked the code that the liar was full of lies and fears. The singer listened to everything the liar had to say but now knows that the liar wanted everything to go their own way. The singer has thought it through on their own and knows that the bad seeds the liar has sown are not their fault. The singer makes it clear that they are not a liar.
The second verse speaks directly to the liar, addressing how they spread rumors and stab old friends in the back for no reason. The singer acknowledges that they are no longer friends with the liar, but they do not feel hate towards them. Instead, the singer is indifferent and believes in leaving the liar to their own fate.
In summary, the song "Liar" is about standing up to someone who has betrayed your trust and realizing that their black and white world of absolutes is a facade. The singer has taken the time to understand the liar's fears but ultimately knows that the liar has created a world where they always have their way and others must suffer.
