I Remember
Deadmau5 Kaskade Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Letting a new day begin
Hold to the time that you know
You don't have to move on to let go
Remember turning on the the night
And moving through the morning light
Remember how it was with you
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
Add to the memory you keep
Remember when you fall asleep
Hold to the love that you know
You don't have to give up to let go
To let go
To let go
Remember turning on the the night
And moving through the morning light
Remember how it was with you
Remember how you pulled me through
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
I remember
The lyrics of "I Remember" by deadmau5 and Kaskade express the bittersweet nature of memories and the importance of holding on to the past while also letting go. The singer is feeling the weight of the past as they let a new day begin, implying that they are struggling to reconcile their memories with the present. The lyrics suggest that memories can be comforting and even necessary, but they can also hold us back from moving forward.
The line "Hold to the time that you know / You don't have to move on to let go" highlights the idea that we can hold on to memories without letting them consume us. Memory is a tricky thing, and it's difficult to know how much of our past we should cling to and how much we should leave behind. The refrain, "I remember," is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the significance of memory in our lives and how even small things can stick with us.

This is one of those songs for me that unlocks a specific period in my life. Itâs a very bittersweet memory.
17, my first ârelationshipâ and losing my virginity. She was 19 and in an off again, on again relationship with her 26 yr old boyfriend.. who she ended up ditching me for.
It was my first job, decent sized company (20-30 employees) and she was the bossâs daughter working there - everyone fancied her, she was honestly super attractive. You know those people who just have âitâ.
I used to fantasise about her every day, just imagining what it would be like if I ever got the chance to talk to her, and creating scenarios in my head. Iâd even pray to God, saying she was my dream girl; if I ever had the chance with her Iâd be the happiest guy in the world. Never in a million years thought it would happen.
Long story short, it happened. But I donât even blame her for it not working out, at all. I was a decent looking lad with a âfake confidenceâ that I couldnât maintain.
I love this song. But again, itâs bittersweet. Because every time I listen to it.. I remember.

I'm 67. Fell asleep on couch and woke up to this playing on YouTube last night. Never heard of it before and style. Don't listen to music/radio much anymore since I gave up playing long time ago but I know music. This a Real Good. Chords, melody, voice, beat, programming the sounds/textures and the use of space.
Live Long.
