The lyrics of Death Note's song The World describe a dark and twisted world, where a revolution takes place in the midst of spreading darkness. The first verse speaks of the promise of the revolution, a promise made between two lovers amidst blooming flowers of evil. The second verse talks about the present state of the world, where the town has forgotten rationality and the present is a twisted nightmare, but also where dreams and ideals can change this reality.
