After being in darkness for a long time, I can see light again, meaning that I have returned from the dead.

The light of my return
The light I see is a symbol of my coming back to life as a zombie.

After too much time in darkness
I was underground for a long time, in the darkness of the grave.

I've had enough of being underground
Being buried for so long was unbearable, so I have come back to life.

My death and burial are forgotten by the living.

Forgotten from memory
No one who knew me when I was alive remembers me anymore.

My sepulchre has become decrepit
My tomb has decayed over time, much like my rotting body.

Decaying as my mortal remains
My dead body has been rotting since my death.

They are corroded by time
Time has taken its toll on my corpse, making it decay even more.

By vice and worms
My corpse is not only decaying because of the natural process of death, but also because of the worms and insects eating away at it.

So many years now have passed
It has been a long time since I died and was buried.

From the last time
No one has cried or prayed for me since I was buried.

That someone cried
No one feels sorrow for me anymore.

Or even prayed for me
No one bothers to pray for my soul anymore.

The living wonder what my intentions are as a reanimated corpse.

The living are confused by my resurrection and don't understand why I have come back to life.

Men don't care about their dead
People do not care about their dead loved ones once they are buried and forgotten.

Don't know that they've come back
The living are unaware that their dead might come back to life, like I did.

Come back to kill them
Zombies have a reputation for attacking and killing the living, often spreading disease and creating chaos.

Don't believe that it's all over
There is more to death than simply being buried, and sometimes the dead come back to life as zombies.

At the moment of burial
When a person is laid to rest, there is a chance they may come back as an undead creature.

There is something more important
Death is not the end for some people, and there might be something more important after we die.

That pushes us to come back
Something is drawing me back to life as a zombie, like a force greater than myself.

The living cry the dead but the dead kill the living
Ironically, the dead who come back to life as zombies are often the ones who end up killing the living.

That is the greatest day for me
For a zombie, the day they rise up from their death is the greatest day of their existence.

The day of resurrection
In religious terms, resurrection means coming back to life after death, often associated with miraculous or divine intervention.

I don't know who I was
As a reanimated corpse, I have lost my identity and sense of self, and cannot remember who I was before I died.

I don't remember my ancient name
I cannot recall my name from my former life, as it has been forgotten by everyone.

But now I feel a new reason
As a zombie, I have a new purpose and drive, different from what motivated me when I was alive.

I have no fear to kill
Zombies have no moral compass or sense of right and wrong, and are driven only by instinct and hunger.

Oooh Zombie, is this real life?
The living are in disbelief at the sight of zombies, and question whether this is real life or some sort of nightmare or hallucination.
