L'? Me comme jamais
Des bleus? L'? Me comme jamais
J'aimerais tant pouvoir te soutenir
Et te porter jusqu'au matin
Te prouver qu'il existe un lendemain
Sonne l'alarme
Baisse les armes
Tout se passe comme si tu savais
Tout se passe comme si tu savais
Tout sur tout, surtout le mauvais
Tout sur tout, surtout le mauvais
This moi ce que tu as? Gagner
This moi ce qu'on a? Gagner
A toujours jouer les Cassandre
A ne voir que le feu et la cendre
Baisse les armes
Sonne l'alarme
L'? Me comme jamais
Des bleus? L'? Me comme jamais
Es
Tout s'? Tiole rien n'a plus de charme
Moi j'ai fais le are? Ve? Veill?
Es
Tout s'? Tiole rien n'a plus de charme
Moi j'ai fais le are? Ve? Veill?
The song "Comme s'il en pleuvait" by Debout sur le zinc is a powerful and emotional plea to someone who seems to be overwhelmed by difficult emotions. The repeated phrase "tout se passe comme s'il en pleuvait" (everything is happening as if it was raining) creates a sense of helplessness and despair, but also of inevitability. The singer wishes they could give the person they are singing to a sense of hope and a belief in a better future, but they also acknowledge that it is hard to see beyond the pain and the darkness. The verses alternate between describing this pain and the singer's desire to help, and questioning why the person is so focused on the negative aspects of life.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with its description of bruises on the soul. The singer wants to support the other person, to give them some faith in the future and help them through the night. The repeated refrain to "baisse les armes" (lower your weapons) suggests that the person is fighting a battle against themselves, against their own demons, and that they need to surrender in order to find peace.
The second verse is more confrontational, with the singer demanding to know what the other person has gained from being so negative and pessimistic. The reference to Cassandra, the mythological prophetess who was cursed to always tell the truth but never be believed, suggests that the person is stuck in a cycle of self-fulfilling prophecies, always expecting the worst and therefore seeing the worst in everything. However, the singer still wants to help them see a brighter future and a different way of looking at the world.
The third verse introduces the idea that love could be the answer, but once again the singer expresses frustration at the difficulties of bringing about positive change. The reference to unspoken feelings, mourning and tears, and the silence that engulfs everything, suggests a sense of isolation and disconnection. The call to "sonne l'alarme" (sound the alarm) could be interpreted as a call for action, a plea to break free of this cycle of negative emotions and find a way to connect with others.
Overall, "Comme s'il en pleuvait" is a song that combines beautiful melodies with powerful lyrics that speak to the human condition. It acknowledges the difficulties of coping with pain and despair, but also offers hope and the possibility of finding meaning and joy in life.
