Killing Me Softly With His Song
Decada Explosiva Romantica Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Singing my life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,
Telling my whole life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song.
I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style,
And there he was this young boy, a stranger to my eyes,
Strumming my pain with his fingers (one time),
Singing my life with his words (two times),
Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,
Telling my whole life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song.
I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd,
I felt he found my letters and read each one out loud.
I prayed that he would finish, but he just kept right on...
Strumming my pain with his fingers (one time),
Singing my life with his words (two times),
Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,
Telling my whole life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song
Strumming my pain with his fingers (yes, he was singing),
Singing my life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,
Telling my whole life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song.
Strumming my pain
Singing my life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song,
Killing me softly with his song,
The lyrics to Decada Explosiva Romantica's song "Killing Me Softly With His Song" describe the profound impact that a musician has on the singer's life. The musician's words and music bring to life the pain that the singer has experienced and shares her story with others. The singer is deeply moved by the musician's talent and ability to express emotions through music. She feels that he is "killing her softly" with his song because her pain is being brought to the surface, making her feel both exposed and alive.
The song starts with the singer's emotions being stirred by the musician's performance. She is struck by the way he is able to strum her pain with his fingers and sing her life with his words, giving voice to the suffering she has experienced. As she listens to him perform, she finds herself absorbed in the music and the story that he tells.
The second verse describes the singer's discomfort at being exposed through the musician's performance. She is embarrassed by the crowd and feels that the musician has read her letters out loud. Despite her discomfort and anxiety, she is unable to tear herself away from the musician's song, which continues to "kill her softly."
Overall, the lyrics of "Killing Me Softly With His Song" capture the power of music to bring pain to the surface and give voice to our struggles and triumphs. The song is a testament to the ways in which music can move us, inspire us, and help us to heal.
