Rapture
Declan Mckenna Lyrics

Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black (woo)
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black

At first, you'll find
A prophecy of what could've been, you know (you know)
You know, there's all sorts of crap on the TV these days
Now you won't live after such disaster
You're a lot full of smashed-up cars
Crosshatched in the metal when you're cracking up
But you're part of the pack up
You're part of something bigger than the laws of nature
Mrs. Thatcher
Your cruel heart navigates the world we live in
With its anger
Going nowhere, coming at you

Rapture in my head
I keep looking up like I'm already dead
Rapture, oh my Lord
I've been playing catch up, I'm already bored

La, la, la-la, la
La, la-la-la-la, la, la-la, la

Well, don't tell me I sure am on the list
How can you make yourself so scarce from someone you love?
Oh, it don't make sense
Your love is never better than the morning after (morning after)
Bye, Mother Nature, goin' at your

Rapture in my head
I keep looking up like I'm already dead
Rapture, oh my Lord
I've been playing catch up, I'm already bored
Rapture in my head
I keep looking up like I'm already dead
Rapture, oh my Lord
I've been playing catch up, I'm already bored

(Oh, rapture)
(Oh, rapture)
(Oh, rapture)
(Oh, rapture)

'Cause it's a rapture in my head
You said this is all, I'm already dead
Rapture in your head
You said stop, I'm already dead
Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead
I'm already dead
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black
Ah, ah
Ah, ah
Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet black

Jet black, jet black
Jet black, jet

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Declan McKenna's "Rapture" seem to be a commentary on the state of the world, specifically in the UK. The first few lines repeat "Jet black, jet black," which could be a metaphor for the current state of society - dark and bleak. The singer goes on to mention "all sorts of crap on the TV these days," which could refer to the state of media and what is being broadcasted to the public.

There is also mention of "Mrs. Thatcher," which could be a reference to the former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who was notorious for her conservative policies and tough approach to politics. The line "Your cruel heart navigates the world we live in" could be a direct criticism of Thatcher's leadership and the effects it had on society.

The chorus, "Rapture in my head, I keep looking up like I'm already dead," could be a commentary on the general feeling of hopelessness and despair that many people feel in the world today. The line "Your love is never better than the morning after" could be a comment on the fleeting nature of relationships in society, and how they often leave people feeling empty and unfulfilled.

Overall, the lyrics to "Rapture" seem to be a commentary on the current state of society, with a focus on politics, media, and relationships.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Bible is truth. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Believe the gospel today.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The only thing you have to do is to believe. He did all the work for you. Believe and you shall be saved!!! Jesus loves you🙏🏼

@@revolutiongirlstyle The devil knows the bible. Yes. At the rapture people will be vanishing of the earth. All born again Christians will go to heaven and meet the Lord Jesus in the air. They will say aliens took us. The devil is a liar. Repent and believe the gospel. The simplicity thats in Christ Jesus. Just believe He died on the cross for your sins. And that He rose again on the third day. Believe it in your heart and you will also go to heaven very soon. We live in the last days. Get on the ark. Now is the time of salvation. Its going to get really bad here on earth you dont want to be here for whats coming. Believe is the key word. Just believe. i was once an atheist. But Jesus called me. In a dream. im not joking He is real and he is coming to snatch away the remnant believers to heaven.

God talks about the great deception that is going to happen:

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
