I think I’m running from the truth
Admitting to avoiding the truth and not accepting reality.

I always look for something new
Always seeking something different and exciting, never content with the present.

Head up in the sky’s and now I see
Previously ignorant and unaware, but now becoming aware of what’s around.

Always so surprised what’s underneath
Always discovering something unexpected and surprising when examining things more closely.

Had to pick and pry at what I need
Having to work hard and search intensely to find what is necessary.

But every time I try I dig too deep
Going too far and getting lost in the process of searching and discovering.

Is it up to me
Questioning who is responsible for the current situation and the need to take action.

Or is it up to you
Wondering if someone else is responsible or can help solve the problem.

I hate to overthink it but I guess it’s what I do
Disliking the tendency to overanalyze situations, but admitting that it’s a habit.

I try to compromise
Attempting to find a middle ground and not be too extreme in thought or action.

I try to live my truth
Trying to stay true to oneself and one’s values.

I try to stay in line but I end up on the loose
Trying to follow the rules or expectations, but often straying off course or being rebellious.

Guess it happens for a reason that’s the way it be
Accepting that things happen for a specific purpose or cause and that this is a fact of life.

I was steady cheesing the joke was on me
Appearing happy and content, but was actually misled or mistaken.

Problems never leaving
Encountering issues or obstacles that continue to persist.

I was on repeat
Stuck in a cycle or routine that repeats without change or progress.

The water feeds the tree yet I drowned my seed
The potential for growth or productivity was present, but was ignored or destroyed.

Always lost in my bullshit
Constantly distracted by irrelevant or insignificant things.

Find a problem and ghost it
Avoiding a problem or challenge instead of facing it directly and resolving it.

I’m the number one culprit
Acknowledging that the responsibility for actions or consequences lies with oneself.

'Bout time that I cleaned up
Recognizing the need for change and action to improve the current situation.

Bad habits gotta leave ya
Realizing the need to break negative or harmful patterns of behavior.

But sometimes is always sometime and sometimes always tease ya
Recognizing that sometimes things are unpredictable or unreliable and may lead to disappointment.

Got no time to waste
Time is limited and valuable, and should not be wasted.

Yet I do it every day
Although aware of the time constraints, still engaging in unproductive or inconsequential activities.

And before I get to work I think I need to meditate
Recognizing the need for mental clarity and focus before beginning work or other activities.

And before I get to work I need to reevaluate
Realizing the need to examine and reassess priorities and goals before beginning work.

You only get it if you go for it
Success or achievement is only possible through effort and action.
