Dj Deekline came to prominence with his era defining top-ten anthem, ‘Don’t Smoke The Reefer’, which sold by the truckload and effortlessly placed him at the vanguard of the Two-step, Garage and Breakbeat movements. Greg meanwhile was carving out a career as an in demand studio wizard, working with the likes of Xpress 2 and The Chemical Brothers, and gaining notoriety for his unswerving drive and deft production abilities. After a quick aside - ‘Get Dirty Baby’ as The Booty Bouncers, - Nick & Greg unleashed an astonishing long player, ‘Breaks, Beats & Blondes’. Weighing in at a fulsome thirteen tracks the album was notable not only for its stylistic breadth, taking in Electro, Reggae, Two-step, House and Breaks but also for its heavy use of vocals from the likes of scene players Yolanda and Spoonface, giving a more human depth to the set. Championed by the Dance music fraternity it opened up a new chapter in Breakbeat, as the scene’s emphasis changed from tracks for a sweaty backroom boys club to music with real soul and sex appeal.

About the end of the world that I won't even say
When all the bricks that built our brain
Will be turned into sand by the eternal wave
Oh if we save her, we'll live on a star
Mother Nature made everybody else so far
Am I in heaven? Am I in heaven?
Well everybody that I knew
Has jumped right in and taken over you
And I swear even the oceans changed its hue
The lesson rings again
Repeats within my brain
Let's all put her to the test
Come on, suck our mother's breast
And everybody that I knew
Has taken bits and pieces out of you
And I swear even the sky has changed, its blue
The lesson rings again
Repeats within my brain
Let's all put her to the test
Come on, suck our mother's breast
Am I in heaven? Am I in heaven?
Am I in heaven? Am I in heaven?
Well everybody that I knew
Has jumped right in and taken over you
And I swear even the ocean changed its hue
The lesson rings again
Repeats within my brain
Let's all put her to the test
Come on, suck our mother's breast
I've got ideas in my brain
About the end of the world that I won't even say
When all the bricks that built our brain
Will be turned into sand by the eternal wave
Oh if we save her, we'll live on a star
'Cause Mother Nature made everybody else so far
Am I in heaven? Am I in heaven?
Am I in heaven? Am I in heaven?
The lyrics of Deekline & Wizard's song "One in the Front" are thought-provoking and dive into the nature of the end of the world, environmentalism, and humanity's relationship with nature. The opening lines express the singer's trepidation about sharing their thoughts on how the world may end. They allude to a catastrophic event that will reduce all the constructs of humanity, including the thought processes, to nothing more than sand washed away by a tidal wave. The singer then goes on to reflect on what can be done to prevent such devastation from occurring. They suggest that if humankind can save Mother Nature, there may be a chance for survival. The lyrics become a call to action, urging humanity to change their ways and test the limits of the earth's resources, as the consequences of not doing so could lead to the end of the world.
The repeated line, "Am I in heaven?" reflects the singer's sense of disbelief and wonder at the state of the world they are observing. The repeated lyrics of the song suggest that humanity may be at a tipping point, with the actions of past generations leading to environmental degradation, and the overwhelming problems facing the planet being felt by those alive today. The lyrics reflect on the impact humanity has had on the planet, with it being taken over and chewed up by the society in which they live. Ultimately, the singer leaves the listener with a powerful message of the need to make changes to save the planet, for if not, everything will be lost.
