In 1996, Breakfast at Tiffany's, which referenced the classic Audrey Hepburn film of the same name, reached the top five in the U.S. and number one in the United Kingdom.
There was conjecture that the band took so much time off between Home and Deep Blue Something in order to fight US centered copyright issues related to their initial album, 11th Song, which they believed to be of lower quality than their name deserved. The 7 year hiatus between albums is believed to be partially responsible for their failure to succeed in the US with their self-titled release.
The band returned in 2015 to release new music for the first time since 2001. This EP was titled Locust House.
John Kirtland is now running a successful independent record label called Kirtland Records. Based out of Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California, Kirtland's shrewd business dealings led to his ownership of the back-catalog of superstar band, Bush and royalty rights on the sales of certain albums by No Doubt. After selling off his rights to the No Doubt material, Bush remains on the Kirtland label along with successful indies like Bril and the Burden Brothers.
7 A.M.
Deep Blue Something Lyrics

We've got to talk, sit down
I don't think you've heard what's going round
I don't think they should know about us
So don't tell them where we were tonight
Don't tell them the bands we saw tonight
Don't tell them the drugs that made me sway
CHORUS:
It's 7 A.M. Cassandra
It's 7 A.M. where have you been?
It's 7 A.M. where is your brother now?
Don't whisper, don't whisper
Don't whisper, it'll be the death of me
Don't tell them, don't tell them
Don't tell them, they'll put us both away
CHORUS
The song "7 A.M." by Deep Blue Something appears to be a conversation between two siblings. The first line "Sister, sister" indicates that the singer is talking to his sister. He tells her that they need to talk and sit down, suggesting that he has something serious to discuss with her. The next line "I don't think you've heard what's going round" indicates that there is some rumor or gossip going on that they need to address.
The next few lines suggest that the siblings may have done something that they don't want others to find out about. The singer tells his sister not to tell anyone where they were, the bands they saw, or the drugs they took. The chorus repeats the phrase "It's 7 A.M." several times, indicating that it is early morning and they may have been out all night doing things they don't want others to know about. The singer asks his sister where she has been and where their brother is, indicating that they may be worried about their safety.
The lines "Don't whisper, don't whisper, it'll be the death of me" and "Don't tell them, they'll put us both away" suggest that whatever they have done is serious enough to warrant punishment, possibly legal. The song ends with a repeat of the chorus, leaving the listener to wonder what the siblings have done and whether they will be caught.
