Pictures of Home
Deep Purple Lyrics

Somebody's shouting
Up at a mountain
Only my own words return
Nobody's out there
It's a deception
When will I ever learn?

I'm alone here
With emptiness eagles and snow
Unfriendliness chilling my body
And whispering pictures of home

Wondering blindly
How can they find me
Maybe they don't even know
My body is shaking
Anticipating
The call of the black footed crow

I'm alone here
With emptiness eagles and snow
Unfriendliness chilling my body
And taunting with pictures of home

Here in this prison
Of my own making
Year after day I have grown
Into a hero
But there's no worship
Where have they hidden my throne?

I'm alone here
With emptiness eagles and snow
Unfriendliness chilling my body
And screaming out pictures of home

[CHORUS:]
I'm alone here
With emptiness eagles and snow
Unfriendliness chilling my body
And whispering pictures of home

Wondering blindly
How can they find me
Maybe they don't even know
My body is shaking
Anticipating
The call of the black-hooded crow...

[Chorus]
I'm alone here
With emptiness eagles and snow
Unfriendliness chilling my body
And taunting with pictures of home

Here in this prison
Of my own making
Year after day I have grown
Into a hero

Unfriendliness chilling my body
And screaming out pictures of home

Was listening to this album at the age of 14, and I'm still listening to this album at the age of 62.

I guess I was 15, it was my first album and my parents feared to lose control about me. Today at 63 I'm still in love with Purple's kind of music.

There is not a bad 1/4 note on this album. Every arrangement, every performance, every nuance, every 1/4 note ... perfection.
Absolutely one of the best albums of all time.

Radu Postolache

Absolutely right.

Real band real musicians

You know that Ritchie would hear you hitting a wrong note when live and give you such a look, that your blood freezes ? Let alone in studio.
