Oblivion
Deep as Ocean Lyrics

A way to erase
mistakes we've made
We'd need oblivion
I asked myself why
For about
For about a thousand times
To be at the edge of the abyss
We've cast out demons
But couldn't make 'em disappear
It's like they were asleep
hatred awakened them
If we could take
A way to erase
mistakes we've made
We'd need oblivion
I Dont know where the pain is really coming from
What's the reason of this bleeding out?
(bleeding out)
All these scars we've unstitched and reopened
There's no blood, only evil
If we could take
A way to erase
mistakes we've made
We'd need oblivion
Grown up with no ideals
Being better than everyone else
They put us against each other
We cannot get away
Now it's too late
A railway with no return
If we could take
A way to erase
mistakes we've made
We'd need oblivion
I Dont know where the pain is really coming from
What's the reason of this bleeding out?
(bleeding out)
All these scars we've unstitched and reopened
There's no blood, only evil
What If I say
There' s still a way...
Lie!
I Dont know where the pain is really coming from
What's the reason of this bleeding out?
(bleeding out)
All these scars we've unstitched and reopened
There's no blood, only evil
Oblivion
How can we got there?
Have we not suffered enough?
We have never learned
from the faults of us all
The song "Oblivion" by Deep as Ocean explores the idea of wanting to erase the mistakes that have been made, but accepting that it is impossible and the only way to escape the pain is through oblivion. The first verse presents the idea of wanting to erase the past and start anew, but acknowledging that it is not possible. The second verse describes the feeling of being at the edge of the abyss β at the brink of despair. The chorus emphasizes that the only solution to cope with the pain is to escape through oblivion.
The bridge discusses the confusion and uncertainty around the source of pain and the reasons for the bleeding out. It portrays the scars as evil and suggests that the pain is coming from within. The third verse highlights the impact of societal pressure and the inability to escape from it. The last chorus reiterates the idea of wanting oblivion to escape the pain and the realization that humanity has not learned from its mistakes.
Overall, the song seems to be an honest reflection of the universal feeling of wanting to escape from the pain of the past, while still acknowledging the impossibility of it. The lyrics are emotionally charged and can resonate with anyone who has gone through similar experiences.

mistakes we've made
Our errors from the past
We'd need oblivion
We crave to be forgotten
I asked myself why
Wondered for so long
For about
Countless times
For about a thousand times
A multitude of moments
Now I know what it feels like
The sensation I finally relate to
To be at the edge of the abyss
Staring down into the unknown
We've cast out demons
Banished our fears
But couldn't make 'em disappear
Yet still they linger
It's like they were asleep
Their presence was hidden
hatred awakened them
Until anger surfaced
I Dont know where the pain is really coming from
Uncertainty about the source of my agony
What's the reason of this bleeding out?
Why am I slowly losing myself?
(bleeding out)
All these scars we've unstitched and reopened
The wounds we expose and relive
There's no blood, only evil
The hurt is still there, disguised
Grown up with no ideals
Raised with no principles
Being better than everyone else
To succeed above all
They put us against each other
Pitted us in competition
We cannot get away
We're trapped in this cycle
Now it's too late
The moment has passed
A railway with no return
A journey with no way back
What If I say
But what if I suggest
There' s still a way...
Hope remains
Lie!
But it's a deception
Oblivion
To be completely forgotten
How can we got there?
How can we achieve it?
Have we not suffered enough?
Haven't we endured plenty already?
We have never learned
We've failed to gain wisdom
from the faults of us all
From the errors of humankind
