When I wrote this I thought the band was over and I was telling the other members that I was finished. One of the lyrics is, ‘ I hate all of my friends ’. It felt like I was alone. I wasn’t communicating with anybody and this was my only way of telling them how I felt. I don’t think they realized what I was saying until a couple of months ago when I explained it to them.

The last time I saw Deftones, Chi Chang looked right at me, we were singing Cherry waves so hard and he looked like he was happy we knew the lyrics because the album had JUST came out. Incredible moment
