Haddon began his recording career in the mid 90s with the Voices of Unity on the small Tyscot label. As the group leader for their three albums, Haddon expressed his forward looking musical view, merging elements of soul, hip-hop and funk in the group's Gospel music. VOU had some mild success on the Gospel charts, but by the late 90s Haddon was ready to move more clearly front and center as a solo artist. His first two solo albums, This is My Story and Chainbreaker continued his artistic development and made some moderate noise on the Gospel charts.
However, I’m not sure that even the devoted fan base he had been accumulating could have anticipated his late 2002 release, Lost and Found, his first on giant Gospel label Verity. A project as ambitious as Tonex’s noted debut, Pronounced Toe-Nay, Lost and Found is an exhaustive, inspired opus by a Gospel artist who, with its release, clearly declared himself a new Gospel star.
The disc begins sounding like a dance Gospel album, leading off with two funky numbers, “D.D.” and “Oh Yeah” (the latter featuring the ubiquitous Fred Hammond). From there it covers broad territory, including bluesy, southern soul (“Ain’t Got Nothing” and the radio hit, “Sinner’s Prayer”), Praise & Worship (“Worship Medley”), Prince-style electric soul (“It’s Me”), big ballads (“Stand Still”) and joyous calypso (“The Praises Go (Up, Up, Up)”). Haddon is literally bursting with musical ideas on the album and, amazingly, virtually all work. Equally impressive is the strong lyrical content of the disc – much of it autobiographical -- focusing principally on the power of redemption and the ability of faith to rescue lost or miscast souls.
It took me almost two months to review Lost and Found, mostly because it took so long to fully absorb such an ambitious project. Now I can clearly say that this stands, with Mary Mary’s “Thankful” and Tonex’s “O2,” as perhaps the definitive modern Gospel album of this decade, and is a must for both Soul and Gospel lovers.

It's over now
So it's over now
It's over now
Verse 1: I cannot expailn the way i feel
I must be dreamin, this can't be real
and I now i know that there's a God somewhere
Chorus: Sunshine after the rain
you have takin away my pain
Someway and some how
It's over now, the storm is over now
It's over now
Um...no more tossing and turning in the middle of the night ya'll
It's over now
No more fillin that something ain't right ya'll
So it's over now
and i don't have to walk wit my head hanging down..no
It's over now
cause my feet is on solid ground...oh
Verse 2: You took my fear and gave me faith and took away my shame and gave me grace
then you lifted my burden off my shoulder and you didn't walk away when you came closer.
Chorus: Sunshine after the rain
You have takin away my pain
Someway and somehow
It's over now, the storm is over now
It's over now
No more smiling and cryin inside ya'll
It's over now
and i don't have to worry cause God's on my side
SO it's over nowG
and now i can love again, i can breathe again
It's over now
Oh it's over...it's over
Deitrick Haddon’s song “It’s Over Now” is a gospel song that speaks to the hope that is found in God when going through tough times. The song is comforting and reassuring, reminding us that even in the midst of our struggles, we are not alone.
The opening verse speaks to the feeling of being unable to express what is going on inside - that feeling of being in a dream or nightmare that does not seem real. It goes on to acknowledge the existence of a higher power, a God who can answer our prayers when we call out to Him. The chorus offers the hope that comes after a storm, a light at the end of the tunnel. The storm is over now, and the pain that was once present has been taken away.
The second verse takes a more personal tone, detailing the ways in which God has given the singer faith, grace, and relief from burdens. Even as others may walk away, God stays close, providing comfort and safety. The final repetition of the chorus emphasizes the newfound freedom and happiness that comes with being able to love and breathe again.
Overall, the message of the song is one of hope and resilience in the face of hard times. It reminds listeners that even when things seem bleak, there is still the potential for light and warmth to shine through.
