From Me to You
Del Shannon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If there's anything that you want,
If there's anything I can do,
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.

I've got everything that you want,
Like a heart that is oh, so true.
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.
I got arms that long to hold you
And keep you by my side.
I got lips that long to kiss you
And keep you satisfied, oh.

If there's anything that you want,
If there's anything I can do,
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.
From me, to you.

From me.
To You.

Del Shannon was the first to present the soon-to-be-world-famous BEATLES to American audiences. I love how he sang their signature "Wooo" just right and included John's harmonica accompaniment!

Gene Mars

He had a good falsetto.

Second Coming Of Bast

I think the harmonica on the Beatles original version was George Martin

Bob

His version was also the first charting Beatle tune in the U.S.

Bob

@Hellbat He had major depression.

I'm very impressed by Del Shannon's version of "From Me To You"! Shannon remained faithful to The Beatles' version. I'm surprised Del didn't record more Beatles songs! I would like to have heard him cover "Thank You Girl"!

Jon N.

or maybe a cover of Helter Skelter? oh i know, how about "You know my name" (look up the number)

Jon's passive-aggressive comments aside, you can search YouTube to find Del's cover of "A World Without Love".

Ward Bond

@Jon N. or maybe "I'm a Loser".

Brandon Colis

Something I especially appreciate about him is that he stays true to his covers, listen to A World Without Love, Under My Thumb, and Rag Doll for example, I prefer the originals, but I love his versions. So on the spot!
