Del The Funky Homosapien is Teren Delvon Jones (born August 12, 1972 in Oakland, California)
Cousin of seminal west coast rapper Ice Cube, Del began his career writing lyrics for Ice Cube's band, Da Lench Mob. In 1991, with the help of Ice Cube, Del released his first solo album, "I Wish My Brother George Was Here", at the age of 18. The album was a commercial success largely due to the popularity of the hit single, "Mistadobalina." Ultimately Del, who was not pleased with the limited musical range of the album, severed his production-artist relationship with Ice Cube for his next album, "No Need for Alarm".
No Need for Alarm also saw the introduction of the Oakland clique Hieroglyphics, whose original members included Souls of Mischief (Opio, A-Plus, Phesto and Tajai) Casual, Pep Love, Del, and producer Domino. No Need for Alarm helped to expose both the regional Oakland sound of hip hop, as well as the freestyle based, "golden era-97" style of hip hop being expanded at the time

Gluttius maximus
Dreadlocks
There are eight billion stories in the sunny meadows
This is just one of them
The lyrics of "Prelude" by Del The Funky Homosapien are full of references to the funk genre, which he is associated with, from the opening line "Funk" to his mention of "Gluttius Maximus," a reference to the gluteal muscles, which are often used in dance moves associated with funk music. He also references his own appearance with the line "Dreadlocks."
The next line, "There are eight billion stories in the sunny meadows, this is just one of them," is a reflection on the vastness of the world and the many different experiences and stories that exist. Del is acknowledging that his own story is just one of many, and there are countless other perspectives and experiences out there. He acknowledges the limitations of his own viewpoint and invites the listener to consider the vastness of the world beyond their own experience.
Overall, the lyrics of "Prelude" are a reflection on the power of music to connect people and bring them together, regardless of their individual stories and experiences. Del recognizes that his own experience is just one of many, but by sharing his music with others, he is able to connect with people on a deeper level and unite them through the power of funk music.
