The Rain
Deliverance Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Realize the one who brought the pain
Looking back, I feel the need to blame
It was then I cried
Help me
I know you see
And I'm all tied up
Set me free
I've seen the rain
And I've felt the pain it brings
Remembering me
The life I lived
The toll it took
The night you found me in the rain
The lyrics to Deliverance's song "The Rain" describe a person who is reflecting on their past and the pain that they experienced. The first line, "Memory of myself the slave," suggests that the person may have been enslaved to their emotions or their past. They then acknowledge that someone caused them pain, but they also feel the need to blame themselves for their own struggles.
The chorus of the song expresses a desperate plea for help and freedom from their pain. The imagery of rain is used to symbolize the turmoil and suffering that the person has endured. The line, "I've seen the rain and I've felt the pain it brings," highlights the emotional impact that their past has had on them.
Overall, the song is a powerful expression of the struggle to overcome past traumas and find inner peace. The lyrics capture the pain of a difficult journey towards healing, but also offer hope for eventual liberation from the past.
