Their latest album, "Ten Lives", was released in 2006 on Dot Dash Records. Their next record, possibly titled "Reticent Memoranda", might be released next year (2009), but given that Marcus was supposed to release a solo album this year and wasn't able to, anything could happen. Deloris played a few of the new songs in August 2008 at Roxanne in Melbourne.
Happy New Year
Deloris Lyrics

Things always happen on holidays
Something in the water or sun
Turns just a friend into just someone
Someone new someone complete
Someone that takes over your best friends feet
At breakfast time you start again
Darting eyes make darker friends
You can take out your purse
And say that's him
He used to be so good to me
He used to be so kind
I wish it wasn't true
I guess it happens all the time
The fireworks
And fire falls down
On a thousand kids
Running through this town
But all i can think
Is it isn't right
That i can drink and wear
Short sleeves at night
But I can't look at her
And I can't breathe
And I can't stand up
Or stay on my feet
And I can't lean
Right up to her ear
And whisper
Happy new year
The song "Happy New Year" by Deloris is a heartwrenching description of a person who is grappling the aftermath of a romantic betrayal that occurred on New Year's Eve. This song unpacks the emotional turmoil experienced by someone who has been betrayed by their best friend into a lover, leading to a shattering of trust and the realization that things will never be the same again. Deloris sings, "I should have known to be afraid/Things always happen on holidays/Something in the water or sun/Turns just a friend into just someone/Someone new someone complete/Someone that takes over your best friend's feet." She reveals that the holiday season has a tendency to heighten emotions and that people behave differently because of the festivities, often leading to romantic tensions.
The chorus of the song laments the betrayal that has occurred on this momentous occasion, with lyrics that are evocative and poignant. Deloris sings about how the fireworks and fire falling down on a thousand kids running through the town is not enough to distract her from the pain of losing a friend and lover, saying, "But all I can think is it isn't right/That I can drink and wear short sleeves at night/But I can't look at her and I can't breathe/And I can't stand up or stay on my feet/And I can't lean right up to her ear/And whisper 'Happy new year.'" The song is a raw emotion that speaks to the feeling of betrayal that can linger and hurt deeply long after a relationship has ended.
