Surrendering, some things are better left unsaid,
Gone again, I'd settle down, I'd settle for content,
To stay, just finding what's been left behind,
Give it all just to get it,
You're missing pieces everywhere,
Waiting for something better,
Give it all just to get it,
You're missing pieces everywhere,
Waiting for something better,
A hiding shadow they'll remain,
Lost again, my own best friend I don't know,
What to say, or who'd be listening,
And when it breaks, it breaks in silence I can't carry on,
Unchanged, it's only fragments they remain,
Give it all just to get it,
You're missing pieces everywhere,
Waiting for something better,
When nothing ever seems to change,
Give it all just to get it,
You're missing pieces everywhere,
Waiting for something better,
A hiding shadow they'll remain,
Give it all I could give it all,
Give it all I could give at all,
Give it all I could give it all,
Give it all I could give at all.
The lyrics of Delphic's song "Remain" are about the struggle to find contentment in life, and the frustration that comes with feeling like you're missing pieces or waiting for something better that never seems to come. The song opens with a warning to not give yourself away again, suggesting that the singer has perhaps been hurt before and is trying to be cautious. The idea that some things are better left unsaid further adds to this sense of caution and wariness.
The second verse speaks of being lost and not knowing what to say or who to confide in. The line "when it breaks, it breaks in silence" suggests that there may have been a recent or ongoing struggle that has caused the singer to feel this way, and that it's difficult to carry on through this struggle. The final lines repeat the idea that the singer is missing pieces and waiting for something better, but that these missing pieces and hiding shadows will remain.
Overall, the lyrics of "Remain" convey a sense of restlessness and a search for contentment, but also a sense of frustration and weariness that comes with feeling like you're constantly waiting for something that never arrives.
