Goodrem has to date achieved nine #1 ARIA singles and multiple UK Top 10 singles. Her debut album, 2003's Innocent Eyes, made her one of Australia's highest-selling female recording artists, spending 29 weeks at #1, and selling over a million copies in Australia and 2.5 million worldwide. While 2004's Mistaken Identity was unable to match the commercial success of its predecessor, it entered the ARIA charts at #1 and gained multi-platinum status. To date, Goodrem has sold 3.5 million albums worldwide. In 2005, she embarked on The Visualise Tour, her debut concert tour of Australia.
In 2003, at the age of 18 and amidst her blooming career, Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer. She has since made a full recovery and now spends much of her time promoting cancer charities.
Goodrem was invited to write and sing the theme song of the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Named 'Together We Are One', the track was co-written with her ex, Brian McFadden and long-time collaborator Guy Chambers. 'Together We Are One' was not originally planned for release as a single, but due to Australian public demand, it was released and peaked at #2 on the official ARIA charts. She was later also invited to perform the theme for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, with "Welcome to Earth".

Happy Xmas
Delta Goodrem Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
Ooh, oh, ooh
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun, ooh
And so happy Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young, oh
A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
Let the war be over
Let the war be over
Happy Christmas
Delta Goodrem's version of "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is a cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Christmas song from 1971. The song begins by acknowledging the arrival of Christmas and a time of reflection on the past year and hope for the one ahead. Goodrem sings, "So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year over, and a new one just begun." The song emphasizes the importance of coming together with loved ones during the holidays, regardless of age, race, or social status. Goodrem's version includes a nod to the original song's anti-war message with the repeated chant of "Let the war be over."
Goodrem's interpretation of the song retains the original's strong social message, specifically about the futility of war and the need for peace. The lyrics address the divisions among people, recognizing that the world is "so wrong." The lines "For black and for white, for yellow and red ones, let's stop all the fight" call for unity and the end of discrimination. The titular phrase "Happy Xmas" is not simply a well-wishing phrase, but rather a direct call-to-action by Lennon and Ono to Western nations to end the Vietnam War.
