In 2018, Demi Lee participated in Die Kontrakt . It was a reality singing competition in which eight aspiring music stars were selected from nearly 2,000 singers after a nationwide online campaign. They were trained by mentors for the knock-out concerts they had to face week after week. Demi Lee and Ivan Roux were the last two contestants left and Demi Lee ended up winning. Her mentor was Monique Steyn and they sang Diane, a Cam cover.
