With their latest release "Tarassis", dEMOTIONAL has proven themselves as a solid six-man-army worthy that place. dEMOTIONAL has become notorious for their energetic live shows and their way of combining modern guitar riffs and the two singers vocals. "Tarassis" is recorded, mixed & produced at Studio PH" by Pontus Hjelm (Dead By April), and it is the product of a young metalband that are experimenting with different genres and tempos, though at the same time keeping their distinctive sound that made them so popular. Just like the album "State: In Denial", the new album "Tarassis" went straight in to the national album chart. After spending a big amount of their time in 2014 writing new material and recording the new album, 2015 dEMOTIONAL successfully headed out as main support to Dead By April on "The Stronger Tour all over Europe.

Close Yet Far
Demotional Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm so weak for attention
Pushing boundaries, dicey game
Just one wrong step will spark the flames
But no, I force self-apprehension
Finding it hard, I guess you do to
But rest assure there′s something special 'bout you
Everything's so bizarre
What you′re doing to me
I can′t see things clearly
Just tell me what we are
I got no bad intentions
To stray off course is not who I am
We're better than that, I know you understand
And so why is it so hard to let go?
To let go
So close yet far
Everything′s so bizarre
What're you doing to me
I can′t see things clearly
Just tell me what we are
Another time, another life
In a world where we don't have to decide
So close it burns
Every touch just pulls me back
Curse returns
It burns
Everything is so bizarre
And I don′t even know who you are
I know it's not OK, but still I want more
And I can't take it anymore
Everything′s so bizarre
What′re you doing to me
I can't see things clearly
Just tell me what we are
So close yet far, so close
Everything′s so bizarre
What're you doing to me
I can′t see things clearly
Just tell me what we are
The lyrics to Demotional's "Close Yet Far" are a reflection of the struggle to maintain self-control in a passionate relationship. The singer expresses their vulnerability and weakness for attention and how it makes things feel like a dicey game, where one wrong move can result in unwanted consequences. Despite feeling apprehensive, the singer explains that they are trying to stay composed, but it is not easy. They acknowledge that the other person must also feel the tension but reminds them that there is something special about them.
The chorus highlights the confusion and inner turmoil that comes with the intensity of the relationship. The singer states that everything feels so bizarre, and they cannot see things clearly, requesting the other person to clarify what they are. The following verse shows the lack of bad intentions on the singer's part, and they acknowledge their awareness of both parties being better than straying off course. The pre-chorus shows the singer's inner dilemma, which is, although it is evident that the relationship is unhealthy, they still crave more of it, and they cannot let go.
The song's overall theme shows the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies strong emotions and relationships, specifically how hard it is to control these emotions and maintain a sense of rationality. It is a representation of how passion can blur our vision and make it difficult to make clear choices.

Simply gorgeous song. Singing was very strong, passionate, and fluid in the whole delivery. Once again I am blown away by how hard yet melodic both the instruments and vocals are, whether separate or together. Ever since this album came out a few months ago, the refrain of this piece has been the most persistent ear worm I've got in a long while! Beautiful final piece for a beautiful album. Supergeil

2:24 to the end has got to be one of my all time favorite pieces of music, and I absolutely love Typhoon off this album, as well as My Heart (huge Matt Guillory fan) , Cornered, and Lost In This City. But damn, I heard this, and kept it on repeat. I've just introduced my entire building to this song, too. They'll thank me eventually.
I've never heard anything like the melodies in this song. Totally fucking spellbound.
@AncientFlorida
Damn this is one of the best Metal-core songs I’ve ever heard
