Fake Sorry
Denai Moore Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You got some nerve calling unannounced
Running your mouth, like weβ€²re good like that
'Cause I no longer fear you
Iβ€²m not insecure no more

You got some nerve thinking time could bail you out
Running your mouth like nothing happened
'Cause I no longer fear you
I'm not insecure no more

Who else is sick of all the same shit?
Iβ€²m throwing my hands to the sky
Donβ€²t even want a goodbye, no
Can't deal with fake sorries
It was historic and it played well
Write me out of your future plans
Donβ€²t want to hold your hand, no
Already know where this one leads

No, no, no
Can't deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Canβ€²t deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Can't deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Canβ€²t deal with, can't deal with
No, no

Wait, now you are saying you just want some closure
This party's tired
Boy itβ€²s over
β€²Cause I no longer fear you
I'm not insecure no more

Who else is sick of all the same shit?
Iβ€²m throwing my hands to the sky
Don't even want a goodbye, no
Canβ€²t deal with fake sorries
It was historic and it played well
Write me out of your future plans
Don't want to hold your hand, no
Already know where this one leads

No, no, no
Canβ€²t deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Can't deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Can't deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Canβ€²t deal with, canβ€²t deal with
No, no

And all the love that I gave you
I'm giving it back to myself, oh
β€²Cause being alone doesn't mean that Iβ€²m all by myself, no
And all the no's that I gave you wonβ€²t keep me hung up on your shelf
'Cause I'm allowed to say no
And if you wonβ€²t take it then itβ€²s all on you

Who else is sick of all the same shit?
I'm throwing my hands to the sky
Donβ€²t even want a goodbye, no
Can't deal with fake sorries
Who else is done with getting played with
Write me out of your future plans
Donβ€²t want to hold your hand, no
Already know where this one leads

No, no, no
Can't deal with fake sorry
No, no, no
Canβ€²t deal with fake sorry
Can't deal with fake sorry

Can't deal with, canβ€²t deal with
No, no

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Denai Moore's song "Fake Sorry" illustrate a woman who has grown tired of a partner who constantly apologizes for his actions, despite not making any meaningful change in his behavior. The opening lines of the song indicate that the partner has shown up unannounced and is attempting to make amends with fake apologies, and the woman is no longer afraid to stand up for herself. The repetition of the refrain, "Can't deal with fake sorry," highlights the frustration of feeling repeatedly let down by someone who promises change but fails to follow through.

The chorus, "Who else is sick of all the same shit? I'm throwing my hands to the sky, Don't even want a goodbye, no," indicates that the woman has had enough and is now rejecting any attempt at reconciliation. The final lines of the song illustrate that the woman has moved on from her partner and is now focusing on herself, saying "And all the love that I gave you, I'm giving it back to myself... 'Cause being alone doesn't mean that I'm all by myself, no." The song ultimately serves as an empowering anthem for anyone who has been let down by someone who constantly apologizes but never follows through with meaningful change.

How in the hell, after all these years, do you still have only 5,800 subscribers? This baffles the mind.

You make wonderful, beautiful, heartfelt music. You have fans across the pond...
