I Use to call you
When I need you
And Know I can't
Cause you with somebody else
So please tell me
Cause I still think you belong to me
If you are in love
Stop calling me love
So I can move on girl
So I can move on
Baby bo sabe n'ca cre mas ninguem
Dificil so de pensa
Bo ma outro in ca ta guenta
Baby bo sabe n' ca cre mas ninguem
Por favor credita In ta li ta espera
Now every time I look at pictures the first
I can't deny I have to cry
And you remember the love we use to share
I can't believe you forget at all
If you are in love
Stop calling me love
So I can move on girl 2x
Baby bo sabe n'ca cre mas ninguem
Dificil so de pensa
Bo ma outro in ca ta guenta

Love is all we had
So if you in love with somebody else

The lyrics of Denis Graça's song "Let Me Go" speak of a love that is lost and a longing for a past that cannot be regained. The singer reminisces on a time when he used to call upon his love, but now she is with someone else. He pleads with her to tell him that she belongs with him, but he understands that he must move on, and she should stop calling him "love" so that he may do so. The singer's pain is evident through his emotions, which he displays through the use of repetition and his native language, Cape Verdean.
The use of Cape Verdean creole or Kriolu adds a layer of depth and complexity to the song, which is common in Cape Verdean music. It represents the singer's cultural and ethnic identity and has become well-known in the Lusophone world. Through the use of Kriolu, the singer's message is more authentic as it expresses his emotions in a way that is meaningful to him and his community.
Denis Graça's "Let Me Go" is an emotional and authentic composition that speaks to the pain of losing love. The use of Kriolu adds a layer of complexity and depth to the song that adds to the understanding of the singer's emotions. Although the song tells a sad story, it is relatable and allows listeners to connect with the singer's experience.
