You'd be so nice by the fire
While the breeze on high, sang a lullaby
You'd be all my heart could desire
Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon shining above
You'd be so nice, you'd be paradise
Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burning above
You'd be so nice, you'd be paradise
To come home to and love
Denise Jannah's song "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" is a romantic tune that describes the comfort, warmth, and pleasure of coming home to a loved one. The song's opening lines are an invitation to the loved one, suggesting that they would be the perfect company at home. The lyrics are figurative, and the singer refers to the person as a cozy fireplace, matching the atmosphere set by the breeze's lullaby. It's evident that the singer misses the person and anticipates the happiness that their return would bring, as she sings "You'd be all my heart could desire."
The second stanza of the song continues to paint the picture of a perfect setting for the loved one to come home to. The stars are described as "chilled by the winter," which sets the tone of the season and evokes a feeling of a cold, crisp night. The August moon is "burning above," setting the scene for a warm summer's evening. In both settings, the singer proclaims that the loved one would be paradise to come home to and love. It's clear that the singer is longing for a warm, comfortable homecoming with their loved one.
