Luna
Denise Rosenthal Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In Denise Rosenthal's song Luna, the lyrics describe the moon's solitary presence in the darkness. The singer behind the glass watches as the moon shines bright and shows its loneliness. The night is deep and blue while the moon remains in the middle, still able to shine. Clouds embrace her as they pass by, but they can't understand her cycle. She understands her own time and her own cycle, showing the sweetness of an eclipse.
The singer then compares themselves to the moon and how they play their own chess game with life. They don't know what move to make to avoid their kingdom from falling, but just like the moon, they have their own light. They return to their own truth and don't look for their other half. The singer empathizes with the moon, understanding that she's sad from waiting for her other half. Little does she know that she's spiraling to reach the same place. The moon understands that nothing is in vain and at last comprehends her own time and cycle, showing the sweetness of an eclipse.
