It came to life in 2006, by the hands of 4 young musicians with diverse musical backgrounds and experiences (such as classical music, jazz, ethnical and traditional music), searching to recreate a sound rooted in popular music through the crossing of different musical languages and musical research serving as a base for the group's original compositions. Their first album - Canção ao Lado was released in 2008.
"...Her name is Deolinda and she is old enough to realize that life isnt as easy as it seems. Merrily unmarried, in love and out of love, born in Lisbon, she inhabits a ground floor apartment somewhere in the suburbs of the capital. She writes her own songs by peeking through the curtains of her window, drawing inspiration from the old gramophone records that once belonged to her grandmother and by the bizarre and strange life of her neighbours. She lives with 2 cats and a gold fish..."

Manta para Dois

Rezingão, tosco, inculto
Insensível, um ingrato, um ruim
Rude e casmurro
És teimoso como um burro
Mas, no fundo, és perfeito para mim
E sei que levo tudo à minha frente
E por essas e por outras
Quase que nem damos conta
Das vezes que amuados
No sofá refastelados
Repartimos a manta sem incidentes
Às vezes és parvo
Gabarola, mal-criado
É preciso muita pachorra para ti
Cromo, chico-esperto
Preguiçoso e incerto
Mas, é certo, que és perfeito para mim
Às vezes, também, sou curta de pavio
E respondo sempre a tudo muito a quente
E por essas e por outras
Quase que nem damos conta
Das vezes que amuados
No sofá refastelados
Repartimos a manta sem incidentes
Às vezes, concedo
Que admiro em segredo
Tudo aquilo que não cantei sobre ti
Mas o que em ti me fascina
Dava uma outra cantiga
Que teria umas três horas p'ra aí
Às vezes, também, sou dada ao desvario
Mas vem e passa tudo no repente
E por essas e por outras
Quase que nem damos conta
Das vezes que amuados
No sofá refastelados
Com os pés entrelaçados
E narizes encostados
Já os dois bem enrolados
Brutalmente apaixonados
Repartimos a manta sem incidentes
The song "Manta para Dois" by Deolinda is a love song that depicts the imperfections but also the perfection of a couple. The song starts by describing the male partner as sometimes being rough, uneducated, insensitive and stubborn, but despite all of this, he is perfect for the singer. The lyrics also describe the female partner as having her own temperament, being short-tempered, and answering everything in a hot-headed way. However, regardless of their individual flaws, they have a harmony that works perfectly for them as a couple.
The singer confesses that there are times she admires and loves her partner more than she can express, but what fascinates her about him is so complex it would take a song of its own to explore. There are times when they argue and have disagreements, but they always manage to resolve their issues quickly and move on to enjoying each other's company.
The song portrays the beauty of a relationship where there is love and acceptance of one's imperfections. It shows that even if we have flaws, we can still find someone to love and cherish us for who we are. Sometimes it's through compromise and understanding that we find harmony in our relationships.
