It came to life in 2006, by the hands of 4 young musicians with diverse musical backgrounds and experiences (such as classical music, jazz, ethnical and traditional music), searching to recreate a sound rooted in popular music through the crossing of different musical languages and musical research serving as a base for the group's original compositions. Their first album - Canção ao Lado was released in 2008.
"...Her name is Deolinda and she is old enough to realize that life isnt as easy as it seems. Merrily unmarried, in love and out of love, born in Lisbon, she inhabits a ground floor apartment somewhere in the suburbs of the capital. She writes her own songs by peeking through the curtains of her window, drawing inspiration from the old gramophone records that once belonged to her grandmother and by the bizarre and strange life of her neighbours. She lives with 2 cats and a gold fish..."

Como vai a saúdinha?
E eu não sei falar de amor
Ó vizinho e este tempo?
A chuva dá pouco alento
E eu não sei falar de amor
Que se engana no correio
E eu não sei falar de amor
E soubesse eu artifícios
De falar sem o dizer
Não ia ser tão difícil
Revelar-te o meu querer
A timidez ata-me a pedras
E afunda-me no rio
Quanto mais o amor medra
Mais se afoga o desvario
E retrai-se o atrevimento
A pequenas bolhas de ar
E o querer deste meu corpo
Vai sempre parar ao mar
Ó vizinho e a novela?
Será que ele ficou com ela?
E eu não sei falar de amor
Ó vizinho e o respeito?
Não se leva nada a peito
E eu não sei falar de amor
E soubesse eu artifícios
De falar sem o dizer
Não ia ser tão difícil
Revelar-te o meu querer
A timidez ata-me a pedras
E afunda-me no rio
Quanto mais o amor medra
Mais se afoga o desvario
E retrai-se o atrevimento
A pequenas bolhas de ar
E o querer deste meu corpo
Vai sempre parar ao mar
Ó vizinho então adeus
Vou cuidar de sonhos meus
Que eu não sei falar de amor
Deolinda's song "Não Sei Falar De Amor" (translated to "I don't know how to speak of love") is a melancholic and introspective piece about a deeply introverted person who struggles with expressing their love to someone they admire. Throughout the song, the singer engages in mundane small talk with their neighbour, while their inner thoughts and feelings about their unspoken love remain hidden. The lyrics demonstrate a sense of helplessness and isolation, as the singer knows they have feelings for the person, but cannot find the courage to express them. The repeated refrain of "E eu não sei falar de amor" ("And I don't know how to speak of love") emphasises the singer's self-doubt and frustration, while the verse about the timidity that "ties me to stones and drowns me in the river" creates a powerful metaphor for the weight of unexpressed feelings.
The song's overarching theme is one of love, vulnerability, and the difficulties of communicating one's emotions. While the singer longs to express their love, they are held back by their shyness and lack of confidence, which the lyrics depict as a metaphorical "bubble" that restricts their ability to speak freely. The verses about the weather and the postman serve as a poignant counterpoint to the singer's inner turmoil, highlighting the gap between daily routine and the intense emotions that lie beneath the surface. Ultimately, the song ends on a bittersweet note, with the singer resigning themselves to care for their own dreams and desires, knowing that they lack the ability to express their love to the person they admire.
