It came to life in 2006, by the hands of 4 young musicians with diverse musical backgrounds and experiences (such as classical music, jazz, ethnical and traditional music), searching to recreate a sound rooted in popular music through the crossing of different musical languages and musical research serving as a base for the group's original compositions. Their first album - Canção ao Lado was released in 2008.

The song O Fado Não É Mau by Deolinda starts with the singer expressing her sadness as she had promised never to sing fado again but fate made her disobey it. She had stopped singing fado for the love of her boyfriend as he believed that fado corrupts the soul with demons, manjericos (a type of flower), episodes of knife and washbasin, lovesick saints and vague loves. He thought that fado is a business of the right-wing people who use it to boast about themselves. He had asked her to stay in her corner and not sing it. However, fate had other plans and they are no longer together, and now she sings the fado with a broken heart as she has nothing left without love or a fado.
The song goes on to explain that fado is not as bad as it is considered to be. It is not a crime or a defect, but a complex system of strings that entwine our hearts and must be untangled. Those who keep the fado in their voice and do not sing it freely run the risk of choking themselves. It is experienced more deeply by those who sing it, and those who prohibit it from themselves become poorer. The singer reminds her lover that singing fado is who she is and he must accept it as it is something that comes with her as a package deal.
