Deric Ruttan Lyrics

(Feat. Dierks Bentley)

Got that song by Johnny Paycheck
Playing on the radio
Been a long week, feeling wasted
Man that job of mines getting old
***
***
He said " Come on, come on
Come on, come on!"

Chorus:
We all need a little good time
We all need to break every now and then
When you're working in the soft mine
You wanna feel the sun shine on your skin
No, there ain't nothing wrong with wanting to feel alright
We all need a little good time

Got a good friend, kinda crazy
I meet him down at the old hotel
And we laugh some, drink some cold ones
Man, we both got stories to tell
But when I mention her, how it still hurts
And say "I think I'm gonna call it a night"
I said "Come on, come on
Yeah, Come on, come on!"

Chorus:
We all need a little good time
We all need to break every now and then
When you're working in the soft mine
You wanna feel the sun shine on your skin
No, there ain't nothing wrong with wanting to feel alright
We all need a little good time

Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Come on!

Chorus:
We all need a little good time
We all need to break every now and then
When you're working in the soft mine
You wanna feel the sun shine on your skin
No, there ain't nothing wrong with wanting to feel alright
And there ain't nothing wrong with wanting to stay all night
We all need a little good time

Come on, come on
Come on, come on

We all need a little...
Come on, come on

Overall Meaning

The song "Good Time" by Deric Ruttan featuring Dierks Bentley is a simple and relatable song about the need for a break and some fun in life. The song starts with the singer feeling tired and bored of his job, feeling like he needs a break from the monotony of life. His friend proposes that they go have some fun and let loose. Through the song, they reminisce about old times and share a few laughs while drinking some cold ones. However, the singer still carries some pain from a past relationship and feels like calling it a night. But his friend encourages him to continue having a good time, saying "come on, come on!"

The chorus of the song emphasizes the need for everyone to take a break and enjoy the good things in life. The symbolism of feeling the sunshine on one's skin while working in the "soft mine" highlights the need for some joy even in difficult areas of life. The repetition of "come on, come on" throughout the song reinforces the need for the listener to let loose and have some fun once in a while.

That is exactly what happened to me too! I heard it on the radio and couldn't find it anywhere on here for the longest time. And i agree I think this song is a lot better than Alan Jackson's Good Time, although I'm a fan of both artists
