Shortly after forming they enlisted Milo Aukerman and made what started out a surf band into a full fledged punk unit. Descendents have diverged from their punk peers, perhaps because of the Beach Boys influences, and sang about topics that touched many young punks' lives like parents, food, girls and being rejected.
This band separated due to Milo actually going to college (he attended the University of California, San Diego) just like the title of their debut. This and other constraints have made them famous for their long hiatuses, which are sometimes a decade span in length. The band has now spread out across their country of origin and their future is somewhat uncertain.
Lead singer Milo Aukerman currently resides in Newark, Delaware. He was a biochemist for the internationally known DuPont Chemical company, which is based out of Delaware. However, whenever the end of Descendents seemed to be approaching, Milo popped up again and the band released a new record. Aukerman then later returned to his academic duties in teaching biochemistry. He then quit his academic life to pursue a career in music fulltime.

It's not very far, I've been there before
I know a place, cool and warm
cooling my blood, warming my heart
So come on down and walk with me, and tell me I'm your man
I only want to know a couple of things about you
Where were you when I was in so much trouble with myself
I've been thinking good good things about you
cool and warm, good good things about you
If you've been thinking good good things about me
So cool and warm when you put your arms around me
On my own, I know where to go
Living the lie, in your eyes
I know a place, cool and warm
Cooling my blood, warming my soul
So come on down and walk with me, and tell me I'm your man
Let's see if I can get it right with you this time around
I'm not afraid of losing you my little girl
But do you still believe in me like I believe
The lyrics to Descendents' song Good Good Things describe a place of comfort and peace where one's blood is cooled and heart is warmed. The singer invites their partner to this place and openly expresses their desire to know more about them, asking where they were when they needed help and if they still believe in the singer. The lyrics express hope and affection between the two individuals, as they both have positive thoughts about each other and the singer is ready to try again and get things right this time. There is a sense of vulnerability in the lyrics, as the singer admits past mistakes and expresses their desire to make it work with their partner.
The song seems to be a love song that acknowledges past mistakes and shows a desire to make things right. The lyrics paint a picture of a place that brings comfort, which could be interpreted as finding comfort in their partner's embrace. The lyrics speak to the desire to grow and change, to overcome past obstacles and build a lasting relationship. The chorus repeats the phrase "good good things" in reference to the thoughts they have about each other—positive and loving thoughts that warm and cool them emotionally.
