The five youngsters joined forces in 2006 and released the A Dozen Dreams EP. After this, a time of intensive touring followed: in the first year 70 shows were played in the Netherlands, England, Wales, Germany, France and Belgium. Also, the band was the support act for bands like New Found Glory and Fall Out Boy. The large amount of shows rapidly resulted in a steady fanbase.
Destine have launched its own online TV-platform Destine.tv where people can follow the band’s every move. Meanwhile, the band appeared on national TV and radio, including the song Last Scene Of A Plane Crash being used for a commercial on TV station Comedy Central.
In April 2008, Destine signed a development deal with major label Sony. The debut album and single are planned to be released in 2009.

Forget About Me
Destine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Oh tell me everything's alright
Tried to catch you on the payphone
Now I'm looking for some peace of mind
And it's so not fair not fair
Cause I see you 'round 'round nowhere
I said anyone but me
It's time for a livin’
Only in this moment
Oh gimme just a second
I take another breath and look the other way
Forget 'bout me, you’ll see me 'round another day
She’ll end up mad ‘n alone
He won't be knockin’ at her door
Oh it scares her to the bone
But she still keeps coming back for more
And it's so not necessary
But is now so ordinary
I said anyone but me
It's time to get a living
You know it's running late
It's time to change
To turn back home
As the sun calls it a day
Our guilt is closing in
You know it's running late
There's time to change
To turn back home
The song "Forget About Me" by Destine is a melancholic anthem about the end of a relationship. The lyrics paint a picture of two people who cannot seem to move on from each other despite the fact that their time together has come to an end. The singer is trying to find closure but is struggling to let go of the past. The first stanza sets the scene of the singer trying to communicate with their former partner, but receiving no response. They are left feeling frustrated and unable to make sense of the situation. The chorus serves as a plea for the other person to forget about the singer and move on with their life. But even as the singer is telling the other person to forget about them, they also imply that they will still be around – just not in a romantic capacity.
In the second stanza, the lyrics shift to the perspective of the other person in the relationship, who is also having a hard time moving on. Even though they know deep down that the relationship is over, they still find themselves drawn back to the singer. The line "And it's so not necessary, but now so ordinary" suggests that this pattern of breaking up and getting back together has become a routine. Despite the fear and uncertainty they feel about the future, they can't seem to stay away.
Overall, "Forget About Me" is a bittersweet song about the end of a relationship and the difficult process of moving on. It speaks to the universal experience of heartbreak and the struggle to let go of someone who was once an important part of your life. The themes of closure and acceptance are woven into the lyrics, creating a poignant message that will resonate with anyone who has been through a breakup.
