The five youngsters joined forces in 2006 and released the A Dozen Dreams EP. After this, a time of intensive touring followed: in the first year 70 shows were played in the Netherlands, England, Wales, Germany, France and Belgium. Also, the band was the support act for bands like New Found Glory and Fall Out Boy. The large amount of shows rapidly resulted in a steady fanbase.
Destine have launched its own online TV-platform Destine.tv where people can follow the band’s every move. Meanwhile, the band appeared on national TV and radio, including the song Last Scene Of A Plane Crash being used for a commercial on TV station Comedy Central.
In April 2008, Destine signed a development deal with major label Sony. The debut album and single are planned to be released in 2009.

In The End
Destine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I lost my fear of heights
Oh it's quite a sight
I never thought the day would come
I'd close my tired eyes
No not here tonight
In the end
Think I can't
I won't go alone
In my head
It was all a bad dream
When I wake up
I'll say now oh don't let me go
When the world has lost its faith in me
And my time is running out
Then I'll take my bow
As I surrender to the melody
It's time to say goodnight
No strength left to fight
We would live as if time stood still when we were young
So patiently waiting oh dreaming of who we'd be from the movies
In the end
I don't think you know
You're my friend
Can't do this alone
In my head
It was all a bad dream
When I wake up
I'll say now oh don't let me go
And in the end it's so vile
That none of my steps have been worthwhile
Oh will you forget in a while
'Round 'round spinning on round
World spins on tonight
Time time ticking on by
The world spins on tonight
Time to say goodnight
No strength left to fight
The lyrics to Destine's song In The End speak to the fear of being alone and the desire for human connection, even in the face of impending mortality. The opening line, "Slowly losing gravity," sets a contemplative tone, suggesting a feeling of floating or detachment from reality. The following lines, "I lost my fear of heights / Oh it's quite a sight," suggest a newfound sense of bravery or recklessness, perhaps spurred by the realization that time is running out. However, this fearlessness is short-lived, as the singer quickly acknowledges their weariness: "I'd close my tired eyes / No not here tonight."
The chorus then comes in, pleading for someone not to let go and offering reassurance that the singer will not go alone. The lines "In my head / It was all a bad dream / When I wake up / I'll say now oh don't let me go" suggest that the singer is not entirely present in the moment, perhaps caught in a state of denial or disbelief about the gravity of their situation. Later in the song, the singer acknowledges that their time is running out and that they will soon have to surrender to the melody and take their final bow. However, the imagery of living as if time stood still when young suggests a longing for the carefree days of youth and underscores the theme of regret and the wish for more time.
Overall, "In The End" is a poignant meditation on the human desire for connection and the fear of facing the unknown alone. It speaks to the universal experience of mortality and the ways in which we fight against the inevitability of our own finitude.
