In early 2000, both Roberson and Luckett were replaced with Williams and Farrah Franklin; however, Franklin quit after five months, leaving the group as a trio. Their third album, Survivor (2001), whose themes the public interpreted as a channel to the group's experience, produced the worldwide hits "Independent Women", "Survivor" and "Bootylicious. In 2001, they announced a hiatus to pursue solo careers. The trio reunited three years later for the release of their fifth and final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled (2004), which spawned the international hits "Lose My Breath" and "Soldier (feat. T.I. & Lil' Wayne)". Since the group's official disbandment in 2006, Knowles, Rowland and Williams have reunited several times, including at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and 2018 Coachella festival.
Destiny's Child has sold more than sixty million records worldwide to date. Billboard ranks the group as one of the greatest musical trios of all time, the ninth most successful artist/band of the 2000s, placed the group 68th in its All-Time Hot 100 Artists list in 2008 and in December 2016, the magazine ranked them as the 90th most successful dance club artist of all time. The group was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and once for Best R&B Song.

Hey, yeah
Ooh
Searching for a destiny that's mine
There's another place, another time
Touching many hearts along the way, yeah
Boy, I love you but I gotta let you go (illusion)
Everyday in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Days in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Follow your emotions everywhere
Is there really magic in the air?
Never let your feeling let you down
Open up your eyes and look around
Boy, I love you but I gotta let you go (illusion)
Everyday in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Days in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Can it be a picture in my mind?
Never sure exactly what I'll find
Only in my dreams I'll turn you on
Here for just a moment then you're gone
Boy, I love you but I gotta let you go (illusion)
Everyday in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Days in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again (yeah, yo, yo, yo)
Hey, yo I don't write love songs leave it up to Luther Vandross
How I choose to live, you don't wanna know the cost
I paid to be the boss, hear it straight from the source
Fortune 500 is how I like to gloss
High side, Korneesh Style, joy ride
Blowin' candles in the wind like Princess Di
Get at me, mom, tell me how you really like it
'Cause we could fly high, I'll be your co-pilot
Hey, yo back to the girl with all the razzamatazz
(Hey, yo, I love you shorty) You talkin' all that jazz
Boy, I love you but I gotta let you go
I know you want me but you play me like the lotto
Use and abusin' so there won't be no friction
I gotta leave, I can't be in this illusion
Oh, oh (It's just an illusion)
Everyday in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Days in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in the moment, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again
Another one from Wyclef
Another one from Jerry Wonder
Another one from Thirty Cash
Dance I say, dance I say (confusion)
Refugee Camp (illusion)
(You get in) Destiny's Child (me again)
Days in my mind is confusion
Thoughts of you bring illusions
Trapped in a world, only you get in
My mind's playing tricks on me again

The lyrics to Destiny's Child's song "Illusion" speak to a struggle with letting go of a relationship that may not be meant to be. The singer speaks to her search for her destiny and her confusion about her feelings for her love interest, who is nothing but an illusion. She is hoping that she won't have to say goodbye, but she knows that it's the right thing to do. Throughout the song, she's grappling with her emotions and her mind's tendency to play tricks on her.
The lyrics explore a very common experience that many people go through when they're in a relationship that may be turning sour or isn't meant to be. It's a delicate balance between holding on and letting go, and the song perfectly captures that through the lyrics. The song, with its catchy tune and relatable lyrics, became a hit and is still enjoyed by fans today.
