In early 2000, both Roberson and Luckett were replaced with Williams and Farrah Franklin; however, Franklin quit after five months, leaving the group as a trio. Their third album, Survivor (2001), whose themes the public interpreted as a channel to the group's experience, produced the worldwide hits "Independent Women", "Survivor" and "Bootylicious. In 2001, they announced a hiatus to pursue solo careers. The trio reunited three years later for the release of their fifth and final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled (2004), which spawned the international hits "Lose My Breath" and "Soldier (feat. T.I. & Lil' Wayne)". Since the group's official disbandment in 2006, Knowles, Rowland and Williams have reunited several times, including at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and 2018 Coachella festival.
Destiny's Child has sold more than sixty million records worldwide to date. Billboard ranks the group as one of the greatest musical trios of all time, the ninth most successful artist/band of the 2000s, placed the group 68th in its All-Time Hot 100 Artists list in 2008 and in December 2016, the magazine ranked them as the 90th most successful dance club artist of all time. The group was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, winning twice for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and once for Best R&B Song.

Charlie's Angels, Come on
Uh uh uh
Tell me what you think about me
I buy my own diamonds and I buy my own rings
Only ring your cell-why when I'm feelin' lonely
When it's all over please get up and leave
Try to control me boy you get dismissed
Pay my own fun, oh and I pay my own bills
Always 50/50 in relationships
The shoes on my feet
I've bought it
The clothes I'm wearing
I've bought it
The rock I'm rockin'
'Cause I depend on me
If I wanted the watch you're wearin'
I'll buy it
The house I live in
I've bought it
The car I'm driving
I've bought it
I depend on me
(I depend on me)
All the women who are independent
Throw your hands up at me
All the honeys who makin' money
Throw your hands up at me
All the mommas who profit dollas
Throw your hands up at me
All the ladies who truly feel me
Throw your hands up at me
Girl I didn't know you could get down like that
Charlie, how your Angels get down like that
Girl I didn't know you could get down like that
Charlie, how your Angels get down like that
Tell me how you feel about this
Who would I want if I would want to live
I worked hard and sacrificed to get what I get
Ladies, it ain't easy bein' independent
How'd you like this knowledge that I brought
Braggin' on that cash that he gave you is to front
If you're gonna brag make sure it's your money you flaunt
Depend on no one else to give you what you want
The shoes on my feet
I've bought it
The clothes I'm wearing
I've bought it
The rock I'm rockin'
'Cause I depend on me
If I wanted the watch you're wearin'
I'll buy it
The house I live in
I've bought it
The car I'm driving
I've bought it
I depend on me
(I depend on me)
All the women who are independent
Throw your hands up at me
All the honeys who makin' money
Throw your hands up at me
All the mommas who profit dollas
Throw your hands up at me
All the ladies who truly feel me
Throw your hands up at me
Girl I didn't know you could get down like that
Charlie, how your Angels get down like that
Girl I didn't know you could get down like that
Charlie, how your Angels get down like that
Destiny's Child
Wassup?
You in the house?
Sure 'nuff
We'll break these people off Angel style
Child of Destiny
Independent beauty
No one else can scare me
Charlies Angels
Whoa
All the women who are independent
Throw your hands up at me
All the honeys who makin' money
Throw your hands up at me
All the mommas who profit dollas
Throw your hands up at me
All the ladies who truly feel me
Throw your hands up at me
Girl I didn't know you could get down like that

The lyrics of "Independent Woman I" by Destiny's Child tells a story about an independent woman who takes care of herself and does not see a need for a man's help. She buys her own diamonds, pays her own bills, and depends on no one but herself. The song promotes female empowerment and independence. The song references the movie Charlie's Angels and features Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz.
The lyrics of "Independent Woman I" encourage women to be self-reliant, empowered, and strong-willed, and reveals a view of the world that isn't always represented in traditional mainstream media. The lyrics suggest that women should be confident in themselves and should not let men control them, but instead, should control their lives by working hard, making their own money, and depending on themselves. The song’s catchy beat and upbeat tone, combined with its positive message, make it a popular feminist anthem.
