Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Dez Fafara Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Prancer, and Vixen,
Comet, and Cupid, and
Donder and Blitzen
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all
Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
and if you ever saw it
you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
play in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!
Dez Fafara's rendition of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is a classic Christmas song that tells the story of the most famous reindeer of all time. The song begins by naming all the other reindeer, including Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, and Blitzen. Then the song asks the question, "But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?"
The answer to that question, of course, is Rudolph, whose red nose shines brighter than any of the other reindeer's. However, Rudolph's glowing nose is also what made him an outcast among his peers. All the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names, and they never even let him play in any of their games.
But Rudolph's life changed one foggy Christmas Eve when Santa Claus arrived and noticed Rudolph's bright red nose. Santa Claus had trouble navigating through the fog, and so he turned to Rudolph for help. Rudolph, with his nose so bright, guided Santa's sleigh through the fog and saved Christmas. From that day forward, all the other reindeer loved him and celebrated him as a hero for saving Christmas.
This song is a heartwarming tribute to the power of individuality and the importance of being true to oneself. Rudolph, who was once an outcast because of his glowing nose, ultimately became a hero because of it.
