The name comes from the initials of the names of the members, plus the letter H.
The band made its debut by winning Sanremo Giovani 1994 and participating in the editions of the Sanremo Festival 1995 and 1996 (in different categories). They made themselves known with their first album Dhamm , released in 1995 and certified gold.
At the beginning of 1999 , the Dhamm changed their name to Sautiva . There is a new line-up change: drummer Bruno Valente leaves the group and Roberto Perrone takes his place. Sautiva released only one self- titled album , which came out in 2000. The disc contains 13 tracks, including the single Vertigini , the only one extracted from the album. After this album, in the spring of 2002 the group disbanded.
In 2011 the return of the band was announced, which for the occasion would have taken the name "Dhamm Progressive", to symbolize their new musical style . After several years of absence from the stage, the Dhamm return with all the members of the first formation. On 27 September 2013 they released the single La gente giudica and on the following 21 January the album Considerata ora , accompanied by the single Mediamente rapiti dal cuore .
The band continues with various live performances until 2015 then bassist Massimo Conti leaves the band again and will be replaced with the current member Daniele Valentini. For a short live period the band also had a rhythm guitarist Alex Massari in its lineup. In 2016 they return to the four-component line-up ( Alessio Ventura - vocals and guitar, Dario Benedetti - guitar, Daniele Valentini - bass and Mauro Munzi - drums ) and release the single Il Rimedio.
