The general idea was to make music, any kind of music.
It didn't have to fit with anything or be categorized; just making music.
After a while, ideas became more serious and complete songs were formed.
Early 2005 there was a first demo, recorded in a home environment, using drum machines and sequencers.
In late 2005 DIAL started seriously consider making an album.
Early 2006 DIAL got in touch with musician/producer Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe) and after hearing a newer version of the demo (re-recorded and re-mixed early 2006) he was happy to help out with producing the début album of DIAL.
The album was recorded at Dead Soul Temple (Austria) in June/July 2006.

Sadness
Dial Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You never saw, you never saw the real me
It was all a lie!
All you wished, all you hoped for
Never thought it was all you lived for
Now I'm lost in this madness of emotions
Filled with scars
Tell me, trust me, show me your sadness
Love me, lead me, give me your sadness
All you dreamed, all you fought for
Now it´s lost, it was all you lived for
The lyrics of Dial's song "Sadness" convey the feeling of being lost and having been deceived in a relationship. The first line "How could I ever think that this would last forever?" shows the realization that the relationship was not meant to last, and the singer was possibly blinded by the idea of forever. The following lines "You never saw, you never saw the real me, It was all a lie!" suggest that the other person never truly got to know the singer or perhaps they were being someone they're not, leading to a false sense of understanding in the relationship.
The chorus "Tell me, trust me, show me your sadness, Love me, lead me, give me your sadness" is a cry for transparency, asking the other person to open up and reveal their emotions. The lines, "Now I'm lost in this madness of emotions, What am I to do; the man behind the mask? Filled with scars" speak of the singer possibly feeling overwhelmed by the emotions in the relationship and getting lost in them. The man behind the mask suggests that they have been hiding their true feelings and it has left them scarred.
Overall, the lyrics of "Sadness" are full of emotion and could resonate with anyone who has gone through the pain of realizing a relationship was not as fulfilling as they imagined it to be.
