Confession
Diana Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Looking back at it all
From a distance
Three sunken and hungry eyes
Couldn't see id already taken
what I needed to get me by
I kept my distance
You bit your tongue
And the taste that it left in your mouth was enough to fill me up
Yeah it filled me up
(Huh huh) Confession
(Huu huh)
(Huh huh) Confession
Do you picture me so long in silence
As I drink from a bitter cup
Do you call on my ghost just to bare witness to your new charade
But the tear thats falling
In your fantasy
Couldn't call back the feeling you now know was not in me
Not in me
(Huh huh) Confession
(Huh huh) -Im not sorry-
(Huh huh) Confession
-I just-
-I just want you to know-
(Huh huh) Confession
(Huh huh) -Im not sorry, no-
(Huh huh) Confession
(Huh huh)
-I just-
-i just want you to know-
-I just want you to know, that-
-I just want you to know, that, theres nothing-
-I just want you to know,
-Want you to know, that theres,
Theres nothing for (without my love)
You (without my love)
I just wanted you to know
(Nothing for you without my love)
I just want you to
(Nothing for you without my love)
Know
(Nothing for you without my love)
That
(Nothing for you without my love)
I just want you to know that theres
(Huh huh) confession
(Huh huh) -I'm not sorry-
(Huh huh) confession
I just wanted you to know
(Huh huh) confession
(Huh huh) -and I'm not sorry, no-
(Huh huh) confession
I just, just wanted you to know
(Huh huh) confession
(Huh huh) -I'm not sorry-
(Huh huh) confession

I just, just wanted you to know
Confession

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Diana's song "Confession" express a sense of regret and guilt over a past relationship. The singer looks back on their time together and acknowledges that they didn't give their partner what they needed, despite their hunger and desperate eyes. The singer kept their distance and remained emotionally closed off, while their partner bit their tongue and suffered in silence. Now, the singer confesses that they were not sorry, but they want their partner to know that there is nothing for them without the singer's love.

The second verse reflects on the aftermath of the relationship. The singer wonders if their ex-partner still thinks of them and their bitter connection. The partner watches the singer's ghost, but it cannot bring back the love that was absent in the relationship. The singer's confession is not one of remorse, but rather an admission of the facts. The singer hopes that their ex-partner can understand that the relationship was futile without the singer's genuine love.

Overall, "Confession" captures a bittersweet feeling of looking back on a failed relationship. The singer acknowledges their mistakes and recognizes that they could not give their partner what they needed. The confession is not an apology, but rather a statement of the truth. The song's emotional intensity is conveyed through the singer's raw and emotional delivery.

Even decades after her tragic death, this woman’s class, stature and elegance is timelessly preserved.

@De Kev Who's perception, the originator of the thread or Mr 'fix it"?

I believe that she was the innocent party in all of this. It seems very clear from her words that Diane felt betrayed by Charles and clearly offended by both of them. Ironic that they are now king and queen consort. Very ironic.

@Graeme Christopher Prince Charles wanted his mummy and papa to except Camilla into the royal family and it seems as though they didn’t want to but he stopped asking them to and just forced them to so it doesn’t sound like Prince Charles would have done whatever he needed to do to make Camilla be excepted into the Royals family. If he would have done that from the beginning but for some reason he and Camilla weren’t interested in having children together wondering if they may have been kin. But The way I see it is William and Henry Charles wasn’t ever going to have any half siblings from their father or mother and someone needed to make sure of that.

The absolute class and grace how she handled with dealing with Camilla just speaks volumes of what kind of person she was. Charles certainly did not deserve her.
