Baby Baby All The Time

Once I had a man and he was right for me
Kind of curly hair, eyes so soft and true
That you couldn't help but care
When he looked at you
He called me baby
Baby all the time
"Baby understand?"
"Baby you're for me"
"Oh won't you take my hand?"
But I push him away
Wouldn't let him near
Pushed him far away
And now I'm wishing I could hear him
Call me baby, baby all the time
It's so lonely through the day
Lonely through the night
Lonely, lonely hours without that
Man I held so tight
Lord I pray that you will listen to my plea
Keep him close to you so he'll come back to me
And call me baby, baby all the time
Baby, baby all the time
The lyrics to Diana Krall's song "Baby Baby All The Time" tell the story of a woman who has lost the love of her life. She reminisces about the man she once had, who was "sweet as he could be" and "right for her." She describes his physical features, which clearly had a deep impact on her, with his curly hair and soft, true eyes. The man in question called her "baby" all the time, which is now a haunting reminder of what she once had.
The chorus of the song expresses the depth of the woman's longing for her lost love. She is plagued with loneliness both day and night, as she longs to be held by the man she loved so much. She prays that God will hear her plea for her man to return to her, so that she can experience the comfort and security of his love again.
The lyrics of the song are simple yet emotive, and capture the heartbreak of lost love in a beautiful and timeless way. Krall's soft, sultry voice is perfectly suited to the song's tender and poignant melody, making it a beautiful and powerful piece of music.
