'Cause angels are so few
But until the day that one comes along
I'll string along with you
I'm looking for an angel
To sing my love song to
And until the day that one comes along
For every little fault that you have
See, I've got three or four
The human little faults you do have
Just make me love you more
You may not be an angel
But still I'm sure you'll do
So until the day that one comes along
I'll string along with you
For every little fault that you have
See, I've got three or four
The human little faults you do have
Just make me love you more
You may not be an angel
But still I'm sure you'll do
So until the day that one comes along
I'll string along with you
In Diana Krall's song, "I'll String Along With You," the singer is singing to her beloved about how they may not be perfect, but she is willing to stick by their side until they find their perfect match - an angel. The lyrics express a sense of devotion and loyalty, despite imperfections. The line "For every little fault that you have, See, I've got three or four" emphasizes the idea that the singer herself is not without flaws, but that it is these very imperfections that make her love the other person even more.
The song has a romantic, old-fashioned feel that speaks to the idea of finding someone who is the right match for you. The singer is looking for an angel, something perfect and ideal, but until that day comes, she will be content to stay with the person she is with. The song's title "I'll String Along With You" also emphasizes the idea of being connected to another person, even if that person is not perfect.
Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of warmth and affection. They suggest that love is not simply about finding someone who is perfect, but about accepting that person for who they are, flaws and all.
