Let Me Be The One
Diana Ross Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Some sleepless night,
If you should find yourself alone,
Let me be the one you run to,
Let me be the one you come to
When you need someone to turn to,
Let me be the one

To set things right
When this old world's turned upside down,
Let me be the one you run to,
Let me be the one you come to
When you need someone to turn to,
Let me be the one

For love and understanding,
To find a quiet place;
For silent understanding,
A loving touch
Come to me when things go wrong
And there's no love to light the way

Let me be the one you run to,
Let me be the one you come to

When you need someone to turn to,
Let me be the one

Diana Ross' voice just has a way of soothing the listener. She doesn't have to scream and yell. All she does is just sing. I really like that.

Since I was very little let's say of course 43 years ago May 1977 when I was born of course I was introduced to Diana Ross's music. I have loved her for 43 years and still to this day of course I still love her. My all-time favorite song of hers is of course the theme from her 1975 film Mahogany, and that song is DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING TO. Now still at age 76, Diana still looks as beautiful as ever and I hope one day that hers and my paths cross that I can tell her thank you and I love you and to be able to give her a hug. Thank you Diana You truly are The Boss
