Though band leader Dick Brave claims to be canadian, the project actually marks the unlikely evolution of german pop singer Sasha - a frequent guest in the pop charts during the 1990s with hits like I Feel Lonely, If You Believe or Young Deenay's Walk On By.
Sasha Schmitz was born and raised by his single mother in Soest, Germany. His musical career started when he became lead singer of a school band called Junkfood. The group recorded several demo tapes together, but attracted no label interest and the band soon split. At the same time the producers of the German rapper Der Wolf engaged him as background singer for the hit single "Gibt's Doch Gar Nicht", a success improved upon by his first official appearance, on "Wannabe Your Lover", a top 10 collaboration with newcomer Young Deenay.
In 2002 Sasha switched his stage name to Dick Brave and began performing with The Backbeats. Originally conceived as a humorous lark, their success encouraged the group to record a whole album together, and "Dick This!" eventually became the singer's first number 1 record. It also featured a successful remake of 1961's "Take Good Care of My Baby", originally written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin and performed by Bobby Vee. In November 2004 the project was discontinued. However, alias Dick Brave's continual presence had earned Sasha an older audience for the first time.
In 2011 Dick Brave and the backbeats stage a comeback with the release of a new album and tour entitles 'Rock Theropy'!

All day long I'm walkin' 'cause I couldn't get my car started
Laid off from my job and I can't afford to check it
I wish somebody'd come along and run into it and wreck it
Come on, since me and my baby parted
Come on, I can't get started
Come on, I can't afford to check
Everything is wrong since I've been without you
Ev'ry night I lay awake thinkin' about you
Ev'ry time the phone rings it sounds like thunder
Some stupid guy try'n' to reach another number
Come on, since I've been without you
Come on, always thinkin' about you
Come on, phone sounds like thunder
Some stupid guy try'n' to reach another number
Everything is wrong since I last saw you, baby
I really wanna see you and I don't mean maybe
I'm doin' ev'rything try'n' to make you see
That I belong to you, hon, and you belong to me
Come on, I wanna see you, baby
Come on, I don't mean maybe
Come on, I'm try'n' to make you see
That I belong to you and you belong to me
Come on, I gotta see you, baby
Come on, I don't mean maybe
Come on, I've gotta make you see
That I belong to you and you belong to me
The lyrics to Dick Brave & The Backbeats's song "Come On" describe the singer's struggle to cope with the aftermath of a break-up. The verses depict the different ways in which the singer's life has been negatively affected since he parted ways with his baby. He's walking all day long because his car won't start, he's been laid off from work and can't afford to repair his car, and he's constantly reminded of his ex-girlfriend as he hears the phone ringing, hoping that the call is from her. However, despite all the difficulties he's facing, the singer is optimistic and determined to get his life back on track. He believes that he can make things work with his ex-girlfriend, and he asks her to come back to him.
The chorus of the song is straightforward and repetitive, with the line "come on" repeated several times. This repetition adds to the sense of urgency and desperation in the singer's plea to his ex-girlfriend.
Overall, the lyrics to "Come On" showcase a universal theme of heartbreak and the lengths people will go to win back the love of their life.
