I still cry when I hear this, but I cannot stop listening to it. It makes me feel so close to my lost partner. I feel so very lonely now, but I'm so glad I had all those beautiful times - lovely memories even though they make me cry.
Christopher Hartshorne
This is one of the songs played at my Mams funeral. It makes me cry but also makes me feel close to her.
Barbara Harris
A singer and a song once heard never forgotten.
Grew up listening to his music.
Thanks for sharing.

He was a great impressionist too, could do many voices of the day. Very talented man. I had all his records.

Perfect voice. Like Mathis, Cole, and other greats, there was no mistaking who it was when his voice came over the airwaves. Many of todays ballad singers sound so much alike that it's sometimes hard to name them until announcer tells us who it is.

You can hear every word, every note spot on, he was so good looking had to be the hit of the day, songs we could relate to, not like today, foul mouth, words you don't want to hear and yet for some reason they are liked. Glad I was brought up in the lovely era of stars like Dickie, bless you, wherever you are, you were loved

This is my favourite Dickie Valentine song the words are so meaningful and so clearly sung as always, saw him with the Ted Heath Band many times at the Tower Ballroom Blackpoolin the fifties.
Terry Wright
He did not play at the Tower Ballroom, it was always The Winter Gardens, every summer
