The Supreme Vice
Die Form Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The whitened soul is disadorned from charred over-shores.
Under the blister of stones, reluctantly, the wave vibrates : walled suns.

The bitter mescal springs like a charm from your distended belly... black hole.

Thirsty earth for amber and glair, draft, chasms of glass, confined stars :
Hidden work, gnawed bone.
The rended girl cries at the stones the angel 's flesh : flayed.
Nettle, defiled, does not live.

Taken in reverse by sight, stranded, riddled with anguish, he opens her unavowed flesh.
The impaled girl 's sighs and worse, kinked and possessed :
Stiffened, raped, gives up to dementia.
Sleepy lake, noiselessly passing away, fruitless belly.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Die Form's song "The Supreme Vice" depict a scene of intense pain and suffering, both physical and emotional. The opening lines refer to a soul that has been stripped of its adornments, left raw and exposed by the harsh surroundings of burnt shores and stone blisters. The imagery of "walled suns" suggests a sense of entrapment or isolation, perhaps reflective of the emotional state of the singer.

The following lines describe the bitter taste of mescal, a cactus-based alcoholic drink, rising up from the belly like a charm. The mention of a "black hole" adds a sense of foreboding or doom. The third verse speaks of an earth that is parched and thirsting for precious substances like amber and glass, while stars remain hidden in deep chasms of iron. The mention of "hidden work" and "gnawed bone" suggests a sense of futility or despair.

The final lines suggest a scene of sexual violence and mental breakdown, with an "impaled girl" giving in to the "folie" or madness. The overall mood of the song is one of darkness and despair, with a hint of surrealism that intensifies the sense of unease.

I am a Canadian citizen but lived in Jamaica for a few years.
Because of that I got to see alot of Jamaica that other "tourists" don't.
I saw the BEAUTIFUL country most "tourists" don't. And I saw ALOT of CORRUPTION most "tourists " don't.
This man right here is Kingstons "Peter Pan".
He protected the vulnerable, and supplied help to hundreds if not thousands of children throughout the years to obtain their educations.. Many family dont always have the money to send ALL their children to school consistently.
This man provided these children a brighter tomorrow.
Rumor has it this man is also responsible for some not so nice things to.
At the end of the day,
This community (and many others) needs structure.
Unfortunately because of so much CORRUPTION within the Government and the Police
Christopher Dudus was the structure of AUTHORITY that communities need.
The government got caught with their tale between their legs and basically asked for World War THREE.
That's EXACTLY what they got.
Citizens were SLAUGHTERED. Straight up MURDERED.
I'm sorry to say but until Jamaica is NOT run by a CLOWN, this is how it's always gonna be.
The government needs to be SUPER ASHAMED of themselves.
Not to mention the fact his Daddy was killed in a fire at the jail he was in while awaiting extradition to the United States.
How coincidental is that really?
From what I understand the man was on route to the American Embassy in Kingston to turn himself in DIRECTLY to AMERICAN authorities . In fear he'll end up like his daddy.
Speaking of his daddy....
He goes by Jim Brown. And let's just say that Christopher "coke" Dudus had to have learnt that behavior from somewhere and someone. Or more
This man's siblings are NO DIFFERENT than him and their Daddy.
You definitely can't judge a book by its cover because you never ACTUALLY know what might or might not happen. Until its to late maybe even

As an American citizen I'll never stop saying that it is my belief that the war on drugs has been the biggest scam ever perpetrated on all of us.

Ryan

I'm just glad drugs won the war on drugs.

PK Flex

I wouldn't describe it as a scam, more so a gross misunderstanding of basic economics. where there is demand, there will be supply.

the solution is to nationalize the drug market and starve the gangs of income

Ryan

@Stevie J Nothing better than lighting up a J after work. It's like a shower for the mind.

@PK Flex they'll find something else with lucrative profits. legal or not. probably not. that's always been the way. not saying I totally disagree with the solution though.
