2) Die Happy is also a metal band formed in the early '90s after the breakup of Vengeance Rising. It includes former members of Vengeance Rising Larry Farkas (guitars), Doug Thieme (guitars), Glenn Mancaruso (drums), Roger Dale Martin (bass), with the addition Robin "Kyle" Basauri covering vocals.
During their career Die Happy released 3 albums: on Intense Records - Self-titled, Volume II, and Live Intense Series (which was Volume 4 of the Live Intense Series).
Larry Farkas, Doug Thieme, Glenn Mancaruso and Roger Dale Martin did reunite in the late 90's for a concert in San Diego, California of the United States, but without Roger Martinez. And in my head it is calling
You can be whatever you want to be, baby
I hide, you care for me
And you always say that you would see
Angels in my eyes
And I can believe
That I'm precious
And that I am something you can't buy
You can do whatever you want to do, sugar
When you mentioned heaven's bride
Oh you came to me to say:
"Don't leave me alone!,
Not this way!"
You are praying for the show
Take me now, then go
Don't forget what I am
Dancing in the spotlight
Twisting, turning all night
I don't really care
What you want to do with me
Standing in the moonlight
Waiting, walking all night
I don't want to know
What you want to do with me
'Cause I am what I am
On your knees, you are begging
All I need is your money
You can say whatever you want to say, honey
I had dreams when I was young
Now I prefer just to survive
Don't bore me again
It's my life
You are praying for the show
Please yourself and go
'Cause I am what I am
I'm not that kind of girl
Look at me
I am what I am
I am never gonna go your way
You are never gonna make me stay
The lyrics to Die Happy's song Not That Kind of Girl explore themes of self-empowerment and independence. The singer of the song describes herself as somebody who will not be controlled or manipulated by others. The opening lines of the song are particularly powerful, as the singer describes being shot down and falling, but then she embraces her strength and asserts her identity. She affirms that she can be whatever she wants to be, and that she no longer needs to hide herself in order to please others. Instead, she is determined to live life on her own terms.
The chorus of the song is particularly strong, with the singer declaring that she is not that kind of girl. She is not the kind of woman who can be tamed or controlled by others, and she will not compromise her values or her sense of self in order to fit somebody else's expectations. She has a clear sense of her own worth and is unwilling to settle for less than she deserves.
The end of the song is particularly powerful, as the singer repeats the phrase "I am what I am". This is a message to herself and to others that she is unapologetically herself and that she refuses to change or conform in order to please anybody else. The song is a powerful anthem of self-acceptance and self-empowerment, and it provides an important message for anybody who has struggled to find their own sense of identity and self-worth.

This started playing in my head today, randomly, without anything to remind me of it, just the lyrics finding a footing in my thoughts, typing those into google and then arriving here. It's probably been at least a decade since I last heard it. Memories are funny.
