The band released a debut self-titled album in March 1995, with vocals done by both Protector and Silenius, as well as with the voice of Julia Lederer (Protector's sister) and Nora El Shamah. Die verbannten Kinder Evas returned after a two-year break with "Come Heavy Sleep", musically speaking, the recording remained true to their original sound, perhaps becoming more complex and more classical in style. The vocals are done by Julia and Richard Lederer, as Nora left the band due to lack of interest and Silenius focused more on Summoning.
Die verbannten Kinder Evas signed to Napalm Records in 1999 and released a third album, "In Darkness Let Me Dwell". With this release Die Verbannten Kinder Evas continue to make considerable use of their now trademark classical sound. Furthermore, the addition of Tania Borsky's singing talent to Richard Lederer's diverse vocal styles add colour and contrast to the dark tracks typical of the band.
The Die verbannten Kinder Evas' last album, titled "Dusk and Void Became Alive" was released in November 2006, which features a new female singer named Christina Kroustali.

Come Heavy Sleep
Die Verbannten Kinder Evas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And close up these my - my weary weeping eyes
Whose spring of tears doth stop my vital breath
And tears my heart with sorrows sight swoll'n cries
Come heavy sleep you're and old friend to me
Take my hand, lead me to those places I've never been
Where all fear and sadness are not real
I'll be by your side, please don't take me away
Let me feel this delight till eternity wakes me up
Never be in solitude again
And no dark tomorrow...
The lyrics to Die Verbannten Kinder Evas’s song Come Heavy Sleep seem to be addressing death as an old friend, who can bring relief to the pain and sorrows of life. The persona in the song is asking for sleep, which is depicted as a symbol of true death, to come and close their weeping eyes. The image created is that of tears stopping the vitality of life and the heart being torn apart by the overwhelming pain of sorrow. The lyrics then go on to describe sleep as an old friend taking the persona to places they have never been, where fear and sadness are not real and life is full of pleasure. The persona longs to be with sleep, to feel the delight of being away from the pain of life, forever.
The lyrics seem to depict the idea that death can be a friend and a release from the sorrows and pain of this life. It is also interesting to note the interplay between sleep and death, and the idea that the persona is asking for sleep but is getting the image of true death. There is also a sense of longing and desire for a life without fear, sadness or pain, which is not possible in this life, but can be found in death. The song seems to be a meditation on the beauty and eternal relief death can potentially bring.

This should really be on Spotify... The other releases are. But this one is undoubtedly the best.

@Alexander Mazilu Fair enough. In all honesty I was unaware how badly they paid artists. I thought it wouldn't be overly much but , that , with more exposure, would come more income for the musicians. But I guess, this type of music attracts a certain type of person... it's not simple.

This album is too pure for spotify, the artists deserve to be paid well for their work, which as you mentioned is their magnus opus. Spotify is notorious for not paying fair streaming royalties. I wouldnt want my music on spotify either, unless like TOOL did it, held out for a while and made them pay fair price. This band obviously doesnt have such a following as a band like TOOL does, so its best it remains a hidden gem for real music fans, and not your average spotify consumers.
