these days
Diecast Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Come into my own
Come into my own
Look inside myself
See the path that I've chosen
It's time for me to lose the pain I've found

Hating every day
Never lived for the moment
I want to scream until this cell corodes
I've thrown it all away
I've thrown it all away
It's time for me, to take this back myself

These Days, are all gone
Waking to the madness
In time to see, the only life I'm living for
These Days, are all gone
Living in the darkness
I walk alone
(On my own)

Look the other way
Never solved the weakness
Of living life in chains that drag me down
Running through the maze
With no sense of direction
Can't give in until I find a way through

I'll take this, bullet between the eyes
I'll take this, now is my time
I'll take this, bullet between the eyes
I'll take this, it's my time

These Days, are all gone
Waking to the madness
In time to see, the only life I'm living for
These Days, are all gone
Living in the darkness
I walk alone
(On my own)
(all alone)

Come into my own
Come into my own, its time for me
These Days, are all gone
Now its my time, to come into my own

These Days, are all gone
Now its my time, to come into my own

Overall Meaning

The song "These Days" by Diecast is about the struggle of finding oneself and coming to terms with one's past mistakes. The opening lines "Come into my own, Look inside myself, See the path that I've chosen" convey the desire of the singer to find their true self and make their own decisions. The singer speaks of losing the pain they have found and taking control of their life themselves. It appears as though the singer has been living in the darkness and running through the maze with no sense of direction.

The lyrics also speak of throwing everything away and wanting to scream until the cell corrodes. This suggests that the singer has built up a lot of frustration and regret and wants to let it all out. The references to taking a bullet between the eyes and it being their time could imply a desire for a drastic change and a willingness to endure hardship to achieve it.

Overall, "These Days" is a song that explores the theme of self-discovery and self-empowerment. The lyrics are open to interpretation and could resonate with anyone who has experienced a difficult period of their life.

These dudes crush! Jason Costa is on a par with Jordan Mancino, Igor Cavalera, Charlie Benante, Dave Lombardo and Cory Pierce (no plagiarism here...formerly RycheRageForOrder all of my social media accounts were connected to my Yahoo account which Yahoo screwed me on. I was forced to change my password so many times I could not remember it!

@Sean Wilson I know! I always thought there were two vocalists. When I found out Paul did both clean & raw I was blown away! dude is the sickest clean/raw vocalist I have ever heard. Listen to the whole album T.D.Y.B.S.it crushes! in vocals, songwriting, and percussion work the band crushed!

Sean Wilson

@Louie McClellan indeed they were a good band. i've only ever heard songs such as : These Days, Medieval, Nothing I could Say, Fade Away, Seize the Day, and Hourglass. fine songs, and gave a good hybrid feel. at that point, i used to think there were two vocalists for the clean vocals and screaming vocals. and i'd lip sync to the clean vocals every time.

Louie McClellan

@Sean Wilson Well, the last album was in 2006. The last mention of the band releasing an album was in 2016. Since then nothing. I was wrong, it does not seem they are an active band anymore. This album was the band's finest work.

Sean Wilson

@Louie McClellan the band still makes music, wow? i gotta check'em out. haven't listened in a long while. i remember first hearing about them form Yahoo Music back when i was in high school. somewhere between 2003 and 2007

Louie McClellan

@Sean Wilson No. They just are not as sick as they use to be. Costa is no longer with them.
